This is one of the BEST brunches in NOLA. A little pricey, but totally worth it. Come here for unique dishes that still keep their New Orleans charm. There's usually a wait on the weekends and for a good reason. They have both indoor and outdoor seating on a gorgeous courtyard with umbrellas at your table.
This place is a 100% cannot miss!

My favorite brunch/breakfast spot in New Orleans. The vibe of the restaurant is amazing and the service is consistently great. The menu has a great variety of food and drink.

The breakfast biscuits here are super unique and a must try. They are a bit heavy for an early breakfast but delicious for brunch. The pancakes rotate through seasonal flavors but the chai are my favorite and a short stack is great to add some sweetness to the meal.

I usually like to share entrees to get a little taste of each which is how I recommend ordering. A delicious smoked salmon toast can really balance it all

Best vegan queso I've ever had. Muffin was dense, moist and not overly sweet which I liked. Vegan ranchero atofu were also bomb. Vegan king cake SLAPS. Churro king cake is a game changer but I wasn't the biggest fan of the icing but everyone else loved it. For atmosphere, V and GF options, price and customer service 10/10.

For those deducting stars because you had to wait or didn't feel like they cater to your specific expectations: go somewhere else. This place is pushing boundaries which people are valuing so they're going to stick around and create a wait. Tried to put in

Great spot for brunch or lunch! Good service. We didnt need reservations, just walked right in.

i had the churro donut, which to be honest was a little bit of a disapointment. i liked the idea, but i wish it were hot. it was kinda cold.

the shakerato is a drink that will absolutely wake you up! although not strong in the liquor department, this tasted amazing.

breakfast potatoes - these were perfect. get them!

i decided to keep my breakfast somewhat light, i grabbed a biscuit with a poached egg and cheese. small, but hit the spot.

The place is located near the art gallery district and close to the WWII museum. We initially wanted to try the place on a weekend but there was a huge crowd and we ended up going to a different spot close by that was better than this location (so glad they had that long line and the cold weather lol)... anyways we decided to return on a weekday. So we went back on a Tuesday and there was no wait. We were seated outside per our request. The place is huge and pretty nice.
We ordered burritos (a steak+egg+cheese; and Shrimp Daddy). Both had a decent flavor, but without exaggeration (the steak burrito

Look, I get it. You have brunch fatigue. I have it too. I'm tired of having to pay $45 just to day-drink and eat eggs that are cooked a bit better than I could cook them at home. I understand the feeling of trepidation when someone says "Let's try this new brunch place!" because 8 times out of 10 they will have the same variety of american breakfast that's upcharged due to having a bit of seafood on it and it'll be ok but somehow more expensive than lunch???

So I'd get it if you swore off brunch places forever. But before you do... can I recommend you a brunch

Hands down AMAZING!!! We got the hot chicken plate and bearcat platter with pancakes for our meal. The rose water latte was an excellent choice as well.

We made it out there at around 10 am on Sunday. the wait time was about 30 min; however, we were seated within 10 minutes at most. The service was great, friendly staff and the food was delicious. For a sit-down breakfast spot, they move incredibly fast and the food was right out not a lot of waiting. Also, their Matcha Latte is a must, super tasty. If I'm in town again, I will check them out again.

Behold the Cat Daddy, an overloaded open face breakfast biscuit with fried chicken's emissary of crunch and delight. Lounging on top is the cat's meow of a fresh extra large soft fried egg that could have been draped with Salvador Dali. Thankfully the plump yoke shows its bounty of orange sauce that will inspire anyone.
After all that eggy flash, you can rest your gaze on the saucy tiny shrimp whose job is to further bind blend and contrast (does that make sense? It does!

Some say it gets better every time you have it. Conclusion, it's addictive!!

(So why 4 and not 5 stars!

Phenomenal food.
Urban atmosphere.
be prepared for the LONGEST waits ever, but if you're willing to wait it'll be worth your time.
NO RESERVATIONS - long wait time even on a Sunday afternoon at 1PM

you can never go wrong with the Cat Daddy Biscuit - flavorful, crispy chicken.
Slightly on the heavier side, but don't get me wrong it's delicious

Their pancakes are deliciously fluffy as well

Ashamed to say I've never tried anything from the good cat (Vegan - half of their menu), but I've heard it's also delicious

Come give it a try, or roll in to the uptown location

A friend from New Orleans directed us to this restaurant for brunch while we were visiting for a wedding. If you can handle the hour + wait for a table on a weekend, we were rewarded with one of the best brunch meals I have ever had. Everyone at the table discusses planning another visit to New Orleans just to eat here. They were very accommodating to allergies and dietary restrictions, with something for everyone. The bottled cold brew was delicious but the soft shell crab and creamed spinach with eggs will be a brunch to remember for years to come.

We waited about an hour to be seated.

Guess what? I would wait again for this amazingggg breakfast.

Well seasoned. Everything was just so tasty. They are not cheap on the alcohol either! After the meal, I understand why people wait an hour to eat here. Try at least once or many times haha!

Of course this place has a ton of reviews, so let me add my two cents. The food was pretty tasty and the menu was varied. I ate the bison burger, my mom had the pot pie, and my dad is the steak and egg wrap. The service was friendly and quick. Pretty much 0 complaints on the food and service side of things. My only "ehh" moment was the wait to be seated. Now normally that isn't an issue. Popular place, long waits. But this place made you sit out front while you wait for a table but there we tons of open tables. So not sure if it was a crowd control thing but I didn't like it

Yesterday I finally got a chance to visit @bearcatcbd (they have 2 locations). Is was pretty busy with an hour long wait at 11am on a Saturday BUT the food was definitely worth the wait.

I had the Hot Rob: hot chicken | creamed spinach | sunny egg (I ordered mine fried) on a biscuit along with 2 "Small" Pancakes: super fluffy and delicious .

Chilllle the Hot Rob was so damn good with the creamed spinach and egg. It was a burst of flavors in my mouth. This isn't something I would usually get for brunch but I'm glad I tried something new. My taste buds enjoyed!!!

I was looking through some different breakfast spots and got super excited because of all the vegan options at Bearcat. It sure didn't disappoint. I had a hard time deciding because so much sounded really good. I ended up landing on the vegan breakfast burrito with a vegan pancake on the side.

I will say the burrito was a bit smaller than I would have expected, but it tasted awesome. With tofu and veggies, it at least felt pretty healthy. The pancake was super fluffy and just sweet enough to contrast my main meal. Gotta say, the real star of the show was those damn potatoes. I'm not

I've decided to write this review after my second visit to this Restuarant and the experience was pretty much the same- maybe actually a little worse.

They don't take reservations so it's pretty much a waiting game- if you are keen to go here but in a rush then give this place a skip. Arrived at about 12ish, saw tons of people waiting outside and went inside anyway to wait for a table. I walked in and saw tons of open tables so I was confused. Waited a few minutes for the hostess to assist me. She was not friendly at all. It felt like she was doing me a favor.

Anyway- I started

I've been to Bearcat before but this was my first time going to the CBD location. It was what I expected from Bearcat to be honest.

I started with a crab dip as my appetizer; the chips had really great flavor and were still warm. The dip itself was fantastic no complaints just loads of crab and cheese!

The Couyon Daddy was my selection for the main entree. It was a open face biscuit (from scratch) with a chicken thigh or breast on top with that same crab dip; and a over easy egg! Couldn't ask for more lol every part of the dish was well executed and all of the flavors married together

Have you ever wanted to go to a restaurant and known that no matter what they were going to have a wait, because the food was just that good? Well @bearcatnola seems to be that spot, especially on weekends. This restaurant has expanded to two locations, one uptown and one in the CBD area. I've been wanting to visit for quite some time, so it was a definite yes when my sister asked me if I wanted to go for brunch. We went on a Sunday, and the check-in counter was packed and very hectic. I believe there was only one host, so the process was slow.

We sat outside and it was a pretty

I'm sitting here happily slurping my chia pudding. It's absolutely lovely and yummy. I must start working on learning how to make this pudding at home. It's so freaking good. This has granola and fruit and is just simply delish. I'm not sure there are enough superlatives in the world to describe how I feel about this chia pudding.

I also got the bison sausage because I just simply wanted to try it. It's good but it's not on the level of the pudding at all.

This is THE breakfast place.

OMG there's no better brunch anywhere on the planet-
The service is always stellar but the food and drink is so good that you can't even focus on anything else!
No reservations taken but it will be worth the wait. We came on a Friday around 11:00am and waited only 10 minutes or so for a patio table. (We had the dachshund with us- YES! You can bring your dog which is why we started coming here in the first place!)
The scallops and grits with the option to add fried oysters is the last dish I want to eat before I die - it's that good.
Daughter had the chicken fried steak sandwich
