Most dry cleaners today clean using petrochemical solvents. About 70% use perchloroethylene (perc), classified by the EPA as an air and water toxin and a likely human carcinogen. Dry cleaners do follow strict regulations to reduce emissions and control its health and environmental risks, but there is no getting around the truth - perc poses a real danger to people and the planet.
Most of us wash our sheets and blankets fairly regularly, but the other stuff-comforters, quilts, and pillows-often don't fit in our washers, or are made of materials we don't know what to do with. My experience with Ray's has been phenomenal! My clothing has been dry cleaned and brought back to life here. I have had coats, suit jackets fitted and pants hemmed by the personnel here. People, do not underestimate the quality of seamstresses and tailors who know this art. I have had only good experiences with the hard working hands of the ladies who work here! The service is prompt and the prices are reasonable considering this economy and inflation we are experiencing.

2021 Update: have to give extra props to the alterations team.
3 days before leaving for our wedding, and my wife’s dress was not 100% right. The place where she bought it at had no more time to get it fixed and done in time.
Ray’s alterations stepped in and within 24hrs, that dress looked perfect. They even offered to deliver the dress if it took too long, but in the end, they were able to fix and get it done very fast.
I always take my guy clothes there, but my wife was super impressed with their service and speed.

I asked them through Yelp how much it would be to hem a dress as it was too long and they quoted me between $26-36. Went to pick up my dress the other day and they charged me a whopping $72. I didn't understand why as all I got was the dress shortened. They did a great job overall but I felt it was a little unfair that they didn't explain that to me and set unrealistic expectations.

Ray's provides slow service, overpriced and sloppy. I brought 4 articles of clothing in two weeks ago to be tailored. $86 for simple hemming that wasn't even straight. One pair of pants has a leg visibly longer than the other. Both dress pants some how got several inches larger in the waist even though I was only having the length altered! How did that even happen? Now, I still don't have pants that fit! Seriously, go ANYWHERE else if you can.

Hemmed 4 pairs of pants for my husband. The seamstress that works the evenings did an amazing job. She asked how soon we needed the job completed and was willing to work with a tight timeline. Although we appreciated the offer for quick service, we were not in a rush. Even with that, she finished the job in a week. The lines were clean and she was delightful to work with. Glad I found this place and the prices are reasonable.

Last week I made my annual trek to Ray's Custom Cleaners & Laundry to drop off my Santa suits. I am a Santa in the non-profit sector. Us Santa's are VERY particular where we get our suits dry cleaned. The cleaner has to be experienced in the cleaning and care of a premium velvet Santa suit. In past years another cleaner ruined one of my suits and turned the white faux fun a light shade of pink. You can see why us Santas are particular which dry cleaners we use.

My husband and I were in need of a few alterations for an event we had that same day. Luckily, Claudia, their seamstress took us right in and got the job done! Nothing fancy was required. I just needed my dress hemmed about 4 inches and my husband needed some pants unhemmed. Our total about out to $80ish dollars because of the "rush" fee. Not sure if we were overcharged but it's something that needed to get done!

Ray's saved the day with last minute alterations on a bridesmaid dress! I have been a customer of theirs for a few years for all my dry cleaning and they have consistently done a great job. MAJOR props to the creative and talented alterations specialist, who spent extra time with me to make sure the dress fit perfectly.

I tried Ray's on a friend's recommendation after having had bad experiences at 3 cleaners closer to my area. Nothing kills me more than having my clothes ruined by a dry cleaner! Rays is worth the drive! Friendly and prompt service when you walk in. More importantly, they do a great job on clothes - even the delicate tops, etc. they get the smells and stains out well. I hear they use environmentally friendly methods, but I can't verify that. Only cons are that they take more than a day if you drop off after 7am and there's no drive-through.

The short version of my long story: On business in DFW from NYC. Busy schedule prevented me from getting my gown tailored for a wedding I was in. I left myself with what I thought was going to be four very stressful days to get this dress fitted, but Maricel in the alterations department absolutely killed it! She took in my rush order with a smile!

I don't know where to begin with how bad this place is. I took 3 dresses here to be cleaned. A day later I get a call from the manager saying they ruined my dress and it will cost $14 to fix. First thing dry cleaning is supposed to be gentle and not ruin clothes. Secondly why would I have to pay for something they ruined.
When I went to pick the clothes up they then informed me that there were 3 stains they couldn't get out.
It cost me 48.50 for three dresses plus 14.00 to fix the one they ruined

Absolutely awesome service! Especially compared to Momma's Cleaners off Crockett St... word of advice- please do not go there. Take your business here; I've never had my clothes ruined and have always gotten amazing customer service. I'm coming back to you, Ray's, after having clothes ruined at Momma's.

I'm new to the area and figured I'd give Ray's Custom Cleaners a try due to the good reviews here and convenience to my apartment. I only brought two shirts in as I always like to give a place a test run. One of the shirts had a good size stain on it so I had them mark it with their red tape when I dropped it off. I picked up my shirts a couple of days later and of course the stain was still there. I didn't notice it until I got home as they had positioned it in the bag so I couldn't see it, and of course the employee didn't mention that they couldn't get the
