Since becoming a member of the California Bar, Rex Tran has focused his practice on representing consumer debtors in bankruptcy. Prior to forming Tran Bankruptcy Law, Mr. Tran founded The Law Offices of Chen & Tran. Additionally, he was a Managing Attorney for the largest bankruptcy firm in the nation.

If you are in a tough financial situation, drowning in debt, or need a way to stop borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, then bankruptcy is a solution for you. In a large number of cases, bankruptcy can eliminate most, if not all of your debt. In other cases, bankruptcy can balance your finances through reorganization of your debt.
All requested documents are required prior to filing your bankruptcy petition. We prefer documents in PDF form. You may email, scan, fax, or use a flash drive. We also accept documents by cloud services such as Dropbox and Google Drive. We would rather not take hard copies, however, if you must provide hard copies, we will accept them in person or mail to the Santa Ana office.
As for the payment plan itself, it is different from say a car repayment or student loan repayment plan. In a Chapter 13 you don't necessarily pay off all of your debt. There are three main types of what we can call payment plan amounts in a Chapter 13. I label them the disposable monthly income (DMI) plan, the equity plan and the 100 percent plan.

I was very skeptical about filing. However upon reviewing the ratings on yelp Rex was my first and only consultation. He worked with me to get everything started and reassured me every step of the way. COVID-19 did cause a little delay with the courts. Visited with Rex Tran to discuss options concerning bankruptcy. The hour was free and during that time he asked questions and typed the responses into his computer. That way if we decided to proceed the filing would be very easy. It was our understanding that it takes 3-4 months from start to receiving the final papers from the court. Chapter 7 costs were about $1600 for everything. However one could not get any additional debt during those 3-4 months, so getting student loan money would be an issue while in the bankruptcy process. Rex was great! I came in for a consultation after 7 PM, he came into the office just for the consultation because I work till 6:30 PM. Not only did he come in after hours, he also explained the process in great detail and answered all my questions. My first time to file a Bankruptcy and thank god I found the best lawyer in town!!!! Chen and Tran is the best! Their fee is so cheap compared to others and there's no hidden charges. I only pay them once and everything is included. Then at the time of my hearing or court date they send a nice lawyer to be with me at NO extra charges!
