Note: BCBS / Companion Benefits Alternatives and United / Optum permanently allow telehealth appointments anywhere in the State of South Carolina. The other insurances are likely to permanently allow telehealth sessions, but have not made final determinations yet. When times are tough, or when you're having issues, it's hard to find things to take pride in.
The courage to seek help is something to take pride in, and we commend you for that. At Centerway Psychiatry our skill set lends itself towards being very good at diagnosing your issue, then explaining it well, and working with you in finding the right treatment. We generally find that a combination of medication and counseling works best.

Geriatric Psychiatry is growing in importance. With more people older than 65 than under 5, aging is more apparent than ever. Physical and mental aging are intertwined. The sensitivities and health problems that you experienced when you were younger are often still present decades later, but aging brings new challenge for your physical and mental well-being.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention 4.4% of the adult US population has ADHD, but less than 20% of these individuals seek help for it. During their lifetimes, 12.9% of men will be diagnosed with ADHD, compared to 4.9% of women. Centerway Psychiatry and Behavioral offers comprehensive adult psychiatric services for people struggling with ADHD and ADD in Charleston, South Carolina and surrounding communities.
According to the National Alliance on Mental Health 18% of American adults live with anxiety disorders. The National Institute of Mental Health states that an estimated 31.1% of U.S. adults experience any anxiety disorder at some time in their lives. Furthermore, during the past year the prevalence of any anxiety disorder was higher for females (23.4%) than for males (14.3%).

After searching for a psychiatrist for months with no luck or with bad experiences like not returning my phone calls, etc., I stumbled upon Centerway. Since the very first phone call, I could tell I hit the jackpot. The receptionist I spoke to the first time was so sweet, going out of his way and making a personal note to himself to make sure I got a call back to schedule my appointment. Since then, it’s been nothing but the best experience all around. The receptionists are all very kind (and very understanding of my kids that are often in the background of my video calls) and Carla herself is

I highly recommend Centerway for your psychiatry needs! I have been seeing Carla Warren for a few months now and she has been incredible. She is easy to talk to, understanding, knowledgeable, and kind. The appointments are virtual which is so helpful since I am in school in a different part of the state. Every time I am checked in and out of my appointment I talk to the nicest women. I love how nice everyone is here! It makes me enjoy my appointments. I did not have a good experience with psychiatrists in the past and I was hesitant about finding a good one so I did my research. I am so happy I

Dr. Cantrell at Centerway has given me hope through his vast knowledge of psychiatry. I suffer from depression and ADD. The past two years I have truly suffered. He was able to quickly get to the root of my medications and offer me a plan that has truly changed my life. With each appointment, Dr. Cantrell genuinely wants to know how each of my meds are working. Bottom line, He cares. I feel more on task with keeping up with appointments and daily living. I’m engaging more with friends and family. I am getting back to my old self. The staff is beyond kind. Hunter, at the front desk, make me feel

I recently became a patient of Centerway Psychiatry & Behavioral Health. Seeking behavioral help can be intimidating but they have made this experience so positive and effortless. Appointments are virtual so they are convenient and flexible. I specifically work with Jenna and Carla. They have welcomed me with open arms and have provided an environment that is very comfortable. Carla has been great and helped me find a solution to issues I have been struggling with for years. I am grateful for their time and dedication to helping me!

I had my first appointment today with Dr. Cantrell. I can’t even express, in words, how grateful I am to him for his expertise, professionalism, understanding and compassion. He has given me HOPE that I didn’t think existed. And, I spoke with 3 of his staff members. They were also, so very nice and helpful to me. I am very grateful for them, also. If I could give more than 5 stars for everyone at Centerway Behavioral Health, I would!!!!!

The staff and doctors here are AMAZING! From the first phone call I made inquiring about their services, to the receptionist, to the doctor.... all a 10 out of 10 experience. My telahealth appointment was scheduled for 10:20 and the receptionist joined the call at 10:21 and apologized for running a few minutes late (a whole one minute is not late in my book!). Once checked in, My psychiatrist joined the call within just a few brief minutes after that.
I was switching psychiatrists because my previous psychiatrist's practice was such a poor quality (we will not mention the name of that practice
