Houston Repertoire Ballet and Ballet Center of Houston were out and about in the community this past Wednesday sharing our beautifully talented dancers and storyteller/choreographer, Kristy Nilsson! What a fun opportunity to bring Sleeping Beauty to the Harris County Public Library, Cy-Fair LoneStar Branch summer reading program.

There are many ways that patrons and fans can support HRB - at any level! You can donate to our general operating funds, or choose something near and dear to your heart, like the Orchestra Fund, which helps us continue to bring live music to our annual production of The Nutcracker. You can donate online using a credit or debit card, set up regular donations, or bring in a check or cash to our rehearsal studios on Jackrabbit Rd.

HRB is a wonderful place to dance and advance through levels to get to a professional placement and skill point. The dancers are all supportive and will always keep you encouraged and motivated to do what you can and more. Everything that this company does will stick with you throughout a dance career because they will have trained and amplified the true talents that’s held within the dancers. I truly recommend coming here because it is a lovable place with hard working volunteers who make what happens there possible. Not signing your child or yourself up with HRB would be a big mistake.

This pre-professional company produces a beautiful and entertaining Nutcracker each December, as well as a wonderful spring Celebration of Dance. I loved the variety of dance in the Celebration of Dance! There were contemporary works as well as the classic Giselle. Everyone in our family loved it. Principal dancers Elizabeth Keller and Andrew Taft from Idaho Ballet were the perfect Giselle and Albrecht. You should definitely check out this gem of a dance company! You also can't beat the ticket price and the easy parking. Tomball High School has a beautiful theater, as well.
