Services
As a family-owned business, the history of Madrono Restaurant began with a family that migrated from Nicaragua in 1986. At the head of the family was Abuela Maria, the grandmother, whose recipes led to the creation of the restaurant. Abuela Maria's descendants were paying close attention when she cooked and disclosed her oral recipes.

Place has been remodeled and its airy, white and awesome ! The staff is amazing and very professional and well trained. The food is still delicious as always. Best chimichurri, bread is delicious, carne asada very good quality, queso frito out of this world. Pure de papa is home made. My only suggestion is to allow the beans in the gallo pinto to soften more. I can't wait to return.

Way over rated place. About 3 weeks ago, we went for dinner.. I ordered a" filete de pescado a la plancha"
The fillet was too salty, and probably had bacteria, couple of hours later I was suffering cramps and later diarrhea. This was the last time in my life that will order seafood in latino restaurant.

BEST RESTAURANT IN MIAMI!!! So delicious, outstanding customer service & immaculate desserts. Seriously such an amazing experience! Every time I go, I try a different dish & I’m NEVER disappointed. My personal favorites are the milanesa de pollo & flan regular or de coco…MAKE SURE TO LEAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! You can’t miss out. This family owned business truly holds so much love & value & it truly shows in every single aspect. They just keep improving year after year. Thank you, Madroño, for showing me the beautiful Nicaragüense culture through your tasteful dishes & generous hospitality

Madrono is the best option for Latin food in the area, the meat is delicious and the dressing amazing! My place to go when I'm not watching my weight because everything is so delicious, from the fried cheese to the 3 leches! They changed the service after COVID , so we only pick up now but they had great service too so may be when we are back to the office .

First trial of Nicaraguan foods
My friend who teaches at FIU recommended this restaurant. We came three weeks ago, but it was closed(closed on every Tuesday).
We came again and there were several people waiting and after 15 minute wait we were seated.
First we tried queso frito(fried cheese).
It was not like fried mozzarella cheese. It was square and breading is light and soft.
It tasted like cheese on leftover pizza which I like. Good texture and not salty.
It is a must at this restaurant.
I ordered Fajitas de Pollo en Salsa Jalapeña and my ordered Carne asada.
Meat has some sort of light

Definitely recommend this place I am from Houston and we have no Nicaraguan resturants so I super excited to find out that there is a bunch in Florida and we picked this 1. It was a party of 10 and they were not able to sit us together which was fine because this is a small resturant the place was so so so clean. The staff was super friendly. And the food was so delicious it was definitely worth the wait. I will definitely be going again if I ever go back :)

Absolutely loved the food! There was a 30 min wait but it was well worth it. Customer service was amazing from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out. Our waiter did such an amazing job at explaining the menu to us and was so patient with us considering that we were a party of 9 (3 adults 6 kids). We came all the way from Texas hoping to find a great Nicaraguan restaurant and I must say that Madroños definitely exceeded our expectations. The place was small but it was so clean and beautifully decorated. I definitely plan to visit again.

I want to start off by saying my office orders from Madroños at least once a month for our Friday lunches. They never disappoint. They have never messed up an order. And they package everything so neatly. I went this past Sunday with my husband and parents. We started off with the bandeja. It has everything you would want. The only think that it is missing (in my humblest opinion) was the crema for the taquitos. But everything was so delicious!! I usually have the carne asada or the pescado empanizada con salsa tipi tapa. Ugh so good. Always gallopinto as a side though, that is nonnegotiable.

This place is the Best! They never fail to deliver fresh food. Usually in similar places the rice is hard sometimes but in 15 years coming here this has never happened. There Carne asada it's like skirt steak/ Churrasco and it's always so tender.
Awesome Little family business. I wish they would open another down South (I travel from Homestead) but the owners prefer just keeping this one with its highest quality. Did I mentioned their attention to detail, they have the best decorations

So due to COVID they are still doing only to go. They are incredibly courteous. We ordered at the door and it was ready pretty quick. We had carne asada with Gallo pinto and is was amazing. I loved the shrimp with Gallo pinto. I would eat that shrimp again anytime WOW!
The tres leche is like no other. Yum!!! Can't wait to go back and hopefully the dining room will be open.

I love this Nicaraguan restaurant! I have been coming for years and just getting around to reviewing them until now. Their lunch special is great, along with the dinner menu. I always get their grilled fish, with Gallo pinto (Nicaraguan rice and beans) and sweet plantains. Staff are usually friendly and helpful. Consistently great food at a good price.

This was a really great experience for employees or students that work or attend FIU. The lunch specials were decently priced and there was a lot of food. Our server was extremely helpful when it came to selecting our meals. The restaurant atmosphere was really classy and prestige. It made me feel upscale. The food was absolutely delicious and if I wasn't moving I would definitely consider coming here monthly. This is a great lunch choice.

Always an excellent place to have a good lunch or dinner on a clean and friendly environment.
Every body is very professional and they are always willing to please you.
The menu has many different options and they are very flexible to accommodate it to your personal needs.
I started with sangria and ceviche. Grilled fish with French fries and salad.
The options are endless, steak, pork, fish, and great Nicaragüan traditional food.
We visit the restaurant every chance we have.

Went again and was shocked when i asked for a Churrasco and they said we don't have any today.
I mean this is the main dish and they were closed the day before!? Strange usually a sharp restaurant. I had the Carne Asada it was ok but thin and small for the price. The rest of the sides good . Service was ok i had to flag down the waiter two times for service. We left confused it was like a different place .
Ok been to many Nicaraguan restaurants before and many fritangas and enjoyed the awesome food! Well, gone are the days of the upbeat beat New Age style Nicaraguan restaurants. But look

I have no pictures to post, since I arrived late and didn't get to do my usual. But I have to say, Los Ranchos who?
On a Saturday night there is a line outside waiting for a table. The service is extremely friendly, polite and classy.
We ordered Ceviche de Pescado for an appetizer. Fish chunks marinated in lime juice, garlic, onions, peppers and cilantro. Yes, definitely hit the spot.
We sampled some of the fried pork and queso frito and they were delicious. But our main course consisted of Pescado Meuniere, lightly breaded fish fillet with a tangy butter and parsley sauce. I literally

After my coworker/friend introduced me to Nicaraguan food, I fell in love with it. This was my second time here and as always it did not disappoint. I tried something different this time around and jumped right into eating it before I remembered to take a pic.
Lunch time is usually busy but they have enough tables and waitresses to get you in and out.

Second time we ate here & glad we did.
Usually we wait to get a table but average wait is 15 minutes or less. Came with friends & for them it was first time. They have ate Nicaraguan Cuisine before, but liked Madroño a lot.
I recommend their Nacatamal & Breaded fish fillet (fried) with Gallo Pinto & Fried plantains, booth delicious.
For dessert share with wife and Bread Pudding with scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. The pudding was hot & cool ice cream on top made a wonderful combination of flavor that was delicious to my taste buds :-)
