Dr. McArthur is truly a gem in the field of psychiatry! He builds rapport with his patients and is very warm and kind. He shares his thinking with you so that you understand and have a say in your course of treatment. He is more available than any other psychiatrist I have ever known and is truly there because he cares. He’s not there to push pills, only puts you on what you actually NEED and is supportive when you want to get off of meds, he does talk therapy as well and works amazingly as part of a team when you are seeing other professionals as well. My Children and myself have seen Dr. McArthur since 2002 and I cannot stress enough how much of a blessing he has been to our family. He literally saved my daughter's life when she was going through her worst case of depression. We relocated due to work, and we still drive 6 hours to make appointments. The entire mental health infrastructure has failed us, but Dr. Mac continues to welcome us and goes out of his way to help in any way he can. This guy has a heart of gold! A blessing from God
