As a therapist, it is my passion to help people make sense of their lives, cultivate self-awareness, and grow to accept their whole selves. Therapy can be a big step. It is my goal to empower you and help you learn more about yourself through the therapeutic process. Throughout counseling, new growth and possibilities exist. I hope we can explore what that looks like together.
Services
My clinical practice is rooted in humanistic and holistic philosophies, meaning that I value the humanity and identities of all people I work with. I believe in working across differences to cultivate a safe, culturally affirming space for clients of all backgrounds. I work primarily with adults and have professional counseling experience within university settings, community mental health, outpatient services, and crisis work.
Therapy can look different for many people and I hope to collaborate on a fit that works for you. I often use therapeutic approaches such as existentialism, Gestalt therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, somatic meditation, and the works of Dr. Bren Brown. I find that these modalities target a variety of emotionally charged lived experiences and aim to uncover the core of many personal issues.
I'm not sure why, but every couple of weeks there seems to be a theme of my therapy sessions with clients. What do I mean by being attached to an outcome? In a brief example, when we think about being vulnerable with someone, or sharing a particularly sacred feeling or experience, we often want to be received, listened to, and held in that emotional place.
