After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Dr. Brian Mackin moved to Sacramento where he completed residencies in Family Medicine and Psychiatry at UC Davis Medical Center.
While in Sacramento, he has worked in a variety of clinical settings ranging from those specializing in the treatment of obesity and disordered eating to providing psychiatric care for the medically indigent and homeless.In addition, Dr. Mackin practiced for several years at one of Sacramento's largest non-profit mental health, drug/alcohol detoxification, and primary care centers.

Dr. Brian Mackin and Physician Assistant Parita Shah work together to administer Ketamine to target depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. Their approach emphasizes preparation and integration that maximizes the individuals' ability to heal independent of the Ketamine treatment.
Dr. Brian Mackin can offer tele-psychiatry when an office visit is not possible or practical. A secure internet based system is used to conduct a private video conference directly with you from your home or office computer. This can currently include a telephone session, Skype, or Face Time. Insurance does not currently provide coverage from these services with Dr. Mackin.
