Baton Rouge High School became a dedicated magnet high school in 1976 with the mission of raising standards and developing the artistic talents of its students. Academically, the school provides the opportunity to build a solid college preparatory background. The school offers fifty-six Honors, Advanced Placement, and Dual Enrollment courses that motivate students to excel beyond the normal challenge at each grade level.
With the added benefit of earning early college credits, the school is unique in that it is the only high school in the nation with both streaming AM and FM student-operated stations. Students who enjoy creative venues can find a vehicle for their talents in both the regular and talented arts programs.

This is the best school EVER!!!!!!! I made so many new friends and became way more responsible with my homework. If you're planning on going to this school, be prepared to do a lot of homework on the weekends and even on the breaks. Yep, your teachers will give you packets and projects to do over your breaks. But I know you can do it :)

Best high school in the parish/county for academic rigor, multi-cultural experience and developmental extracurricular activity (radio station, state-class track, state-class choir, competitive soccer, wrestling, swimming and gymnastics). Student body smarts would go toe to toe with any private school in parish as well. Money can't buy BRMHS magic.
