North Suburban Counseling Center is a private, non-profit, community mental health clinic located in Coon Rapids, MN. We have been serving the northern suburbs since 1985. The clinic is approved by the State of Minnesota as a Rule 29 clinic. Our staff is interdisciplinary and includes professionals from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, clinical social work and marriage and family therapy.
Services
North Suburban Counseling Center provides mental health services for most insurance carriers and managed care organizations. Clients are encouraged to call their insurance carrier to verify benefits, network coverage and to receive an authorization. Please bring your insurance card to your first appointment and notify us of any changes to your insurance coverage.
A You will be asked to fill out paperwork before you see the counselor. The counselor will conduct an intake interview with you. Normally, this can take up to 2 sessions. The focus of these sessions is to determine what kinds of changes you want to make in your life and to assess the mental health symptoms you are experiencing.

I've had a handful of therapists and psychiatrists over the years and I feel so blessed to have finally found the dynamic duo I needed so badly. Nancy Cusack and Dr Buoen have spent quality time helping me find balance and get back to the self I had lost for so many years. It has been a rocky road but one thing that never faltered was knowing I could rely on both Nancy and Dr. Buoen. When I was ready to give up, they gave me just enough hope to keep going.
