Arthur A. Benjamin Health Professions High
HPHS accepts students from all over Sacramento and surrounding areas! Email your student's most recent transcript, behavior and attendance records to our Clerk, Taryn Marsh at Taryn-Marsh@scusd.edu. The principal, Leticia Bucio, will review the records to make sure that your student has enough credits to transfer.

Once the records are reviewed the front office will call and email with a congratulations letter of acceptance. All freshman are excepted. The mission of Arthur A. Benjamin Health Professions High School is to provide students with an anti-racist education rich with culturally-relevant academic, career, and leadership experiences while exploring health and medical sciences.
Services
Anyone (including family, ages 12+) can join! These applications determine funding for important school programs and even valuable services for families, such as P-EBT forms. These confidential forms should be completed by every family and only take a few minutes to complete. It only takes a few minutes for you to help us protect critical funding for our students!
My name is Leticia Bucio and I am honored to introduce myself as your new Principal for the 2021-22 school year! I am a Sacramento native and have worked for SCUSD for the past 16 years at a large high school as a Counselor then an Assistant Principal. It is with great pleasure that I am now serving you in the capacity of Principal.
You can play in the HPHS Small School Sports League OR you also have the ability to attend HPHS and play for your neighborhood high school in SCUSD. We have created a Small Schools Sports League where co-ed teams will compete against SES, American Legion, Kit Carson HS, New Tech, Carver and The MET in soccer, volleyball and basketball!
To obtain a diploma of graduation from a SCUSD high school, students need to complete the following course credits in grades 9 through 12. Our priority as a school community is to ensure our students are academically, socially, and emotionally prepared for college. Health Professions courses align with what are commonly known as the "A-G" requirements.
Recent research, policy literature, and federal legislation suggest that comprehensive Work-Based Learning (WBL) programs contain three key components: the alignment of classroom and workplace learning; application of academic, technical, and employability skills in a work setting; and support from classroom or workplace mentors.

Great school. It is a Linked Pathway Learning School so instead of being in a traditional classroom the students are encouraged to participate in labs and extracurricular activities. Overall the school environment is great and with the help of new staff HPHS is a great school. The teachers are very liked and teach off of curriculums taught at a college level. For instance in 9th grade the freshman take Anatomy and Physiology, 10th grade students take World health, 11th grade students take PreHospital Care, and I. 12th grade the students take Phycology. Hphs also has a diverse student body.

It’s a good school, a lot of opportunities for you.But A LOT of the people there are rude, mean, and a lot of favoritism. But if the people there were nice good people then it would be a 5 unfortunately SOME teachers, staff, and students need to grow up.Other than that there are really good opportunities.
