Our team of Couples Counselors and Relationship Coaches can help you reconnect with your partner and discover that loving feeling. We offer couples counseling and/or marriage counseling online. Online couples counseling is very effective, especially if both of you are in the same room during the session.
In fact, I find it works just as well as in-person counseling for most couples, as long as you have a good internet connection for clear video and audio signals. Online counseling is so much more convenient, and it's easier to schedule appointments-trying to get three people to a meeting at the same time in the same place these days can be very difficult.

We're Figs and Teale, the founders of Therapy with Figs and our sister company Empathi. We're also husband and wife, so working on relationships is not just a job, it's our way of life. We're dedicated to making sure everybody gets the support they need. We're Figs and Teale, the founders of Empathi.
Every couple experiences conflict, but there exists a way to transform conflict into what it truly is: an invitation into greater intimacy with not only your partner, but yourself. Do you find yourself fighting the same painful fights, re-ignited in the light of differing contexts, but basically the same power struggle?
We are hardwired to be connected with a primary other from cradle to grave. In other words - love matters to all of us! There is a reason why all the pop songs are always harping on about love.
So this biological hardwired interdependence means that when love or relationship is not working out in a manner we longed for - it is a big deal, resulting in suffering, pain, sadness, frustration, feelings of low self esteem, lack of productivity in other areas of life and more.

Why even have a page for couples counseling specifically for parents? Look, relationships are hard. And relationships while parenting can feel near impossible at times-in fact, I would argue, it is literally impossible sometimes. There are just so many more opportunities to end up in stuck places with your partner, spouse, or co-parent while you are parenting together.
To schedule an initial appointment, you may contact me or one of the members of my team by phone call at (415) 967-3447 or via the Contact Form. You will be expected to pay for each session at the time it is held or, if you prefer, you may pay in advance. Please contact me to discuss fees. I recommend an initial couples counseling session of 90 minutes, but this is not required.

We’re both so glad that we took the plunge and chose Figs to guide us through couples therapy (a first for both of us).
Thanks to him we now tackle issues head on as a team, instead of blaming each other and allowed me to communicate with my partner from a much softer, more vulnerable place, which in turned has helped him open up and share more of him.
His relatability and ability to be vulnerable right alongside us has been key In allowing ourselves to open up and get the most out of each session. All to say, we couldn’t recommend him enough!

Figs is a gifted and effective couples therapist - and the best investment in your happiness. He is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based treatment for couples, and has expanded on EFT to develop his own model, Empathi. With his approach, he is able to help people in relationship feel seen, heard, and understood by themselves and their partners, and also see the cycle of disconnection that they are in. He educates people in a very approachable way that empowers and normalizes difficulties that arise in relationships. Doing so helps people release shame and connect to one

This review is for Teale Taxis. Honestly, I can't recommend Teale enough. Even when I first spoke to her on the phone, she seemed to really understand where I was at and the struggles my partner and I were facing. Her empathy and understanding was crucial in getting my partner and I to open up, recognize our negative patterns and both of our parts in it, resolve some stuck disagreements, and come closer together and make our relationship stronger. The way she created a comfortable and understanding environment over Zoom, without ever meeting us in person (thanks to the pandemic), was really

This review is for Romona Mukerjee. We found Romona through the Empathi website where we spoke with Fig and he said he had the perfect person in mind for us.
We are a couple based out of New york and we wanted to recive therapy sessions to help us move from a point in our relationship where we felt stuck and didn't know how to deal with it or communicate with each other.
Once we got Romona's name from Fig, we looked her up and her credentials and experience seemed very impressive (they were badass ) . We set up a first online meet & greet (due to Covid-19 and also because of the fact

My partner and I started seeing Stefanie Bond for online couples counseling during a very tumultuous time in our relationship. At that point, we were unsure of whether or not what we had was even salvageable.
Our first conversation with Stefanie was a quick 15-minute chat to briefly explain what we were looking for and listen to how her method of therapy could be helpful. Within the first few minutes of speaking with her, we could tell that she was warm, compassionate, and genuinely committed in helping us succeed. Stefanie was instrumental in holding some very uncomfortable spaces and mediating

Figs came highly recommended and boy did he live up to the hype. He's remarkable at getting right to the core of issues and helping you quickly resolve any conflicts and understand your partner better. He's also an absolute Jedi when it comes to helping you understand yourself and what you're bringing into a relationship. We had tried other couples counselors in the past without much success and WOW was Figs different. We only did a few months with Figs and he set us on such an incredible path. He's certainly not the cheapest but you'll end up saving money because you get

This review is for Karen Gordon. We saw Karen for about 5 months. We just had our last session with Karen and I don't think I'm exaggerating to say it was probably the best investment I've ever made.
We both brought our own baggage into the relationship (who doesn't?) which lead to trouble (like it always!). The trouble didn't go away and things weren't looking good.
Now, we're in an *amazing* place. It feels a bit like the honeymoon phase, except more real and solid, with the tools to make it last.

We love Figs! He is our safe place. We are so grateful he saved our 20-year relationship.
My husband is an old school, blue collar, DIY kind of guy. He had been resistant to therapy for years. Once I got him into Fig's office, his resistance instantly dissipated.
Figs does not take sides. He slows us down and facilitates our genuinely seeing conflicts from our partner's perspective. He gently elucidates both partners' contribution to the breakdown of the relationship.
On sessions when we were not in a fight, Figs conducted wonderful exercises to facilitate deeper understanding

Our experience with Karen Gordon was wonderful. With Karen's guidance my husband and I are now able to truly understand each other, and our feelings. Learning about attachment theory was extremely helpful in developing a better understanding of our ourselves and our relationship. We are more connected than we have ever been before, and are very grateful to Karen!

A year ago, I got divorced and I was in a dark place.
However, because of Stefanie Bond, I have since grown, I have regained hope and I am now healing. She has been foundational to my recovery. Over the last several months, Stef has been an island of emotional stability, guiding me through my darkness and has helped me rebuild. Our early sessions were often difficult but rewarding. We dug deep into my pain and sadness and, working together, she gave me the clarity that I had desperately sought. I gained a sense of who I am, without fear of judgment or shame. I now accept my divorce as simply

The one thing I can say about Figs, is that he engages the world through his heart. We collaborated, briefly, on a residential real estate development concept. He was interested, careful, and motivated. I loved the way he leaned into it, and was open to learning along the way. What I learned through our association was how much he loved his home town, and how respectful and aware he was of both his and my feelings. Making money was important to him, but equally so were matters of the heart. Above all he was careful to care for our 'relationship', such as it was, in this financial dealing. Bottom

Figs is a super sharp and insightful therapist. He’s also deeply sensitive and empathetic. I know him as a colleague, having participated in workshops and professional development trainings with him. He is warm, tuned-in, and perceptive. I appreciate how he uses humor to make it easier to work with challenging emotions. He is easy to connect with, accepting and caring. I am always happy to have the chance to refer clients to him because I know they are in good hands. He does individual therapy and couples counseling / couples therapy in San Francisco and Marin.

Figs is a great therapist I'd highly recommend for either one-to-one psychotherapy or couples counseling. He has a unique ability to create safety (even in the midst of the most emotionally escalated experiences), bring his own humor and humanity to the table (making the relating style real and natural), and provide the support and insight you're paying for in a truthful, professional, and open manner.

I find Fiachra has the heart warming ability to entertain, instruct and heal all at the same time. Is it his Irish nature or his timing? I believe it's rare to find a man who can be so clearly masculine yet soft and heart centered at the same time.
On one occasion I was working with Fiachra during a group therapy session. It was a particularly vulnerable and emotional time for me. Figs was able to have enough presence to connect with me while coordinating everyone else to provide a healing container. At one point Figs directed everyone to hold me, and then he took me step by step through my rage
