R Stuart
Located in the heart of Downtown McMinnville just a few blocks from our Winery, our Wine Bar is the perfect setting to taste through our wines, linger over a glass, and purchase wine to take home. More than a tasting room, the R. Stuart & Co. Wine Bar perfectly embodies our philosophy that wine should be enjoyed with friends. R. Stuart Winery is Rob and Maria Stuart, and so much more.

It's the dedicated farmers who grow the fruit, it's the cadre of people who work alongside us in our winery and tasting room, it's the teams of sales people all over the country who carry a bag on their shoulder and tirelessly tell our story, it's the devoted shop owner or somm who loves to introduce their customers to wines that will enlighten and charm them, and it's the good people of the world who open a bottle of wine and embrace it all.
Services
After making wine for other people for more than twenty years, Rob Stuart and his partners founded R. Stuart & Co. in early 2002. With a degree in biochemistry from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in New York, and a short but eye-opening career in the labs at Baylor University in Texas, Rob started his winemaking journey on the bottling line at Hans Kornell in Napa, California.
Because we source fruit from about a dozen beautiful vineyards around the Willamette Valley, winemaker Rob Stuart is able to create intriguing and well-balanced Pinot noirs every time. Some Pinots are so unique, so intriguing and complex, that they deserve the extra special treatment. These Pinot noirs are perfectly wonderful to drink now, but as they age they reveal their many layers of intrigue and charm.
Rob Stuart is a man of many passions - and most of them have to do with wine. Did you know that the single reason he started to make wine was to recreate the 1963 Bollinger Champagne he tasted when he was just 18 years old? And later he spent a season working in Portugal learning the secrets to making the world's great Ports.
Years ago we had a dream that started as just a spark and eventually grew into a Big Fire. That dream was to make friendly and delicious wines that are wonderfully food flexible. We use the Big Fire labels for what we like to call our Tuesday night wines. Wines you'll open when you get home from work - enjoy a glass as you're making dinner and another one with dinner.
Deven started as a harvest intern (that's pretty typical around here) but he also has a business background. For a couple of years he worked for us intermittently, eventually coming on permanently in January of 2014. While his title is Business Manager, his job is really so much more than that - working with distributors, organizing the logistics of trucks and warehousing, and paying the bills too.

Malorie, Lexie and Casee were so welcoming and knowledgeable. I appreciate everything you did to make me feel like part of the R. Stuart family. The wines, the wonderful Bubbly (especially the Rose D’Or). Cheers to all of you. I’ll certainly be back to visit. 🥂❤️

One of my ALL TIME favorite tasting rooms! We visited years ago and I've been dreaming about it ever since... so while visiting in laws in Portland and taking the kids to the Wings and Waves Waterpark... I found a way to break away for a tiny bit to do a tasting at R Stuart & Company Winery, and I'm SO glad I did!
Our poorer was amazing and I could have sat in there talking wine all day (and know I'm lame...)!!! The wine is SO good. The only downside is that the bottle if you're not a wine club member (which too pricy in its own right) are very expensive, so you can't walk out of there with everything

We came on a recommendation from another wine tasting room that was unable to sell by the glass. I could not be happier! The wines offered were amazing and the staff was both friendly and knowledgeable! Jorge was amazing!!! 10/10 will be back!

So friendly, I want to go every week & bask in the sunny smiles & warm glow. Many wines by the glass, I love them all, but especially the single vineyard Pinots Ana, Weber, Daffodil Hill, and don't forget the sparkling-two types now.
I'm always treated like a friend, and the others I meet there are often locals enjoying a break from their day. Or out of towners looking for some good vino. Rob & Maria & all of the staff are great, and I can't believe I waited this long to do a review.

Don’t leave McMinnville without stopping into this wonderful wine bar! A great place to hang out downtown, friendly staff provides you with knowledgeable conversation while you taste through R. Stuart’s labels. The Big Fire Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris are absolutely amazing!! I also love their Champagne and the Reserves are truly a gem in the land of wine. They also have little snacks like delicious rosemary cashews, cheese and crackers! If you aren’t feeling wine they have a few beers from local breweries and fantastic coffee. Hands down my favorite wine bar and I would highly suggest stopping
