Jacquelyn Richards Psychotherapy
Jacquelyn Richards, LMFT is a somatic (body-oriented) psychotherapist who works with individuals learning to deal with anxiety, deal with depression, work through life transitions or further personal growth. She works with people from all different backgrounds including POC and LGBTQI and offers psychotherapy in English and Spanish.

She provides individual psychotherapy in San Francisco and Oakland as well as virtually. Her offices are easily accessible from Marin, South San Francisco, Berkeley, Walnut Creek, Richmond, Alameda and San Leandro. Anxiety and depression are pervasive in our society. It can be difficult to know what to do or where to turn when stress gets the best of us or we struggle with emotional ups and downs.
Services
My background as a Somatic Psychotherapist is heavily influenced by Yoga, Formative Psychology and Generative Somatics. I am a CA Licensed Somatic Psychotherapist who provides online psychotherapy to individuals from different backgrounds to explore what is holding them back so they can begin to engage with life in fulfilling ways.
In mind-body psychotherapy we begin by listening in to set your intentions or goals for our work together. In our weekly sessions, I guide you to engage your whole mind-body experience (thoughts, feelings, imaginings and sensations). Through this awareness we explore how "you do you"--how you generate your lived reality and grow you capacity to adapt and evolve.
Are you and your partner navigating a conflict, working through your differences, or undergoing a difficult transition? Have you tried to talk things through but feel heated or shut down, caught in repeated patterns of disconnect, criticism and hurt? Do you want to feel deeper intimacy and sense of connection?
The transition-filled preteen/teenage years bring forth moments of challenge and anxiety, confusion and worry for caregivers. In these pivotal developmental years your pre teen/teenager is growing a unique identity and individuating from family while prioritizing peers. It is common for communication to break down, power struggles to ensue and for your child to push back or ignore your advice.

Jackie is a highly intelligent and skilled therapist who is deeply committed to her clients healing. Knowing her as a colleague for nearly a decade I have experienced and observed how her tender, grounded presence allows her to connect with others and become their ally on the healing path. Her experience with and appreciation for a holistic mind-body approach and her rootedness in social identity awareness and change work provides a rich and nuanced framework for her clients to grow. I highly recommend working with Jackie for anyone wanting know themselves in a deeper way.
