This is the most price efficient, mid tier sushi restaurant. Now, I am a lover of sushi but I am not a sushi connoisseur. I have had my taste of fresh seafood and can definitely tell the difference. I personally think that unless you go to a really high end omakaze place in Boston, most of the sushi quality you will eat is pretty much the same. Even more so if you eat it in a roll form, and the pure sushi flavors is masked by the rice, sauce, and other veggies. Is this a place to take a fancy date? No. But if you are looking for a truly no frill, standard Thursday night I don't want to cook

Avana has fresh sushi with lots of options for a good price. I booked a reservation thinking it was a restaurant, but it's really just a quick service counter with tables. I ordered 2 rolls (the tofu skin and the vegetarian dragon) and was pleased to see all of the veg options on the menu. My friend ordered a pink lady with miso soup, and we shared an edamame. Overall, the tofu skin was a bit too sweet for me, but the dragon roll was spectacular. The miso soup was bland and watery, and the pink lady was a little skimpy on fish, but we couldn't complain too much considering the price.

Went to pick up avana sushi and then ate it at home. It is a bit tricky to find, but its actually a mini-mall/food court area inside a slightly larger complex. The sushi is cheap and tasty. You get filled up pretty well. You can get 32 basic rolls for 30 dollars. Id say thats a good deal. Highly recommend the spicy tuna and salmon rolls. Specialty rolls are great as well.

Ordered a couple things to-go and found this place very affordable compared to other sushi places around. We decided to try a majority of sushi at Avana like Spicy tuna, salmon mango avo, caterpillar, spicy salmon avo, and then compare with 2 orders of Spicy Tuna from another near by sushi place, Irashai (shown in picture in the plain black container).
I would say they're pretty comparable quality wise. Avana is definitely a bit cheaper, but quality wise they seem to be pretty similar. I would say if you're looking to eat in, go to Irashai because the restaurant itself is nicer. Otherwise

Good luck finding this place: it took me 3 years. Even when Google Maps says "You are here" and you are standing right in front of it, you won't realize it is there. That's because you have to go into what looks like the entrance of an entirely different restaurant. The sushi is delicious, at least it was before the pandemic; In fact I'd say it was the best in Boston. After the pandemic, it is not quite as good. Four stars because it is so affordable.

I've always stopped by this place for lunch because they have some decent lunch deals and interesting rolls. if you work nearby, just call it in 10 or 15 minutes early. by the time you walk over, it'll be all set. they also have quite a few takeout orders the times that i've stopped by so it's a pretty popular lunch spot for the companies in the area
i go for the 2 rolls lunch special and i always get the shrimp mango roll. i don't eat fish but i do eat shrimp and i found this roll to have a really nice taste, especially with the inclusion of the mango. it's an interesting

If you like sushi, this is the place for you. Don’t come if you want fancy napkins, tables and décor. There is none of that here. This is a pure, belly up to the bar, eat off plastic plates, wonderful experience. The food always arrives quickly and well made! It is clearly fresh and made with some skill.
There are only a few seats, and not really enough space, but once you taste the food you will not care. If you want to spread out, just get it to go and head to the park.
It is located inside a building, inside a section of the building. Don’t let the entry hold you back. There are multiple

I like that you can order ahead online & pick up if you're in a rush.
Good quality, affordable sushi that is located inside a *small* food court. I've been multiple times & it has not disappointed me. There is not much of a waiting area and it gets awkward if more people come in. What I like is that they give you a disposable dipping dish for your soy sauce!
Tip: They do have a $10 minimum for credit card, so make sure you have cash if you are only stopping by for a small snack.

Ordered pick up from them. I showed up, they ignored me for ten minutes, and when I finally insisted, the food wasn't ready, well after the time the website gave. Rough stuff. Decent quality food, but not worth the hassle when there's stuff that's just as good or better with better service in the area.

Def a gem in the city! Happened to find this place on Uber eats: they have the most affordable sushi in town! We tried the basic rolls: red snapper avocado roll, yellow tail avocado roll, white tuna avocado roll, and the dragon maki. The fish pieces inside of the sushi are HUGE! And rice outside is very thin. Def the beyond my expectation for its price. And the dragon roll is amazing!! I loved the eel on top of the roll!
It's not the fancy sushi places where you can fancy rolls but if you just want sushi for easy lunch or dinner, the is def the place to go. Definitely the best you can get

Decided to do take-out sushi from Avana Sushi through Uber Eats and it was pretty good!
Went for the speciality rolls since they were decent in price, and was surprised at the quality and flavor profiles. Really liked all of the rolls! My favorite was the Volcano Roll followed by the Spicy Rainbow Roll.
Would definitely do take-out again if I have a sushi craving.

Best take-out sushi in Boston. Rolls are cheap and done very well. We also dined in a few times, but the place is small. They are super quick to prepare your food - asap means like 10 minutes, so make sure you're close by when you order!
The place also features a couple of other small counters that sell ramen & dessert - we have tried both and they are also very well worth it! If you find yourself waiting for some sushi, get a waffle dessert while you're at it!

Keep in mind - I'm not a sushi connoisseur by any means and I'll happily indulge in grocery store sushi if I know it's half-decent, but I had trouble enjoying Avana Sushi.
I don't know if it was because I ordered it for delivery, or if it was just an off day, but the sushi itself felt... dry and old. The fish seemed to be not very fresh and the rice was pretty hard. I still ate it all because again, not a sushi snob here, but definitely had an upset stomach the rest of the day (first meal of day, not trying to insinuate anything here).
I might try it again once things are

Pretty good quality sushi at very reasonable prices. My boyfriend and I had two miso soups and four specialty rolls of sushi and the total came out to be just $50-$55. My favorite was their Spicy Crazy Salmon roll, which had spicy salmon, avocado, tempura flakes, and spicy mayo sauce.
The space is small and there isn't much seating, but we came for lunch on a Saturday and there were a few tables available. They have a lot of variety on their menu, so I'd be excited to try other stuff next time I'm here.
