Mary is an absolutely stellar human being and alterationist! She altered both of my wedding dresses (thanks, COVID!) and both times, it was an incredible experience. She truly listens to your concerns and is so reassuring and wonderful to work with. I feel like for many brides, the dress is a stressful part and for me, it was one of the easiest. She has amazing attention to detail and the quality of work is impeccable. I cannot say enough nice things about her and the overall experience!

If you want your dress in good hands, then make sure you hire Mary! I really can't say enough about her, and was sad when my time with Mary was over. She is very kind and listens to your vision and is so detailed oriented when it comes to her work. My dress was very big and needed alot of alterations! She communicates impeccably and keeps you updated during the alterations process. She takes no requests lightly and no matter what the request or concern is, even down to the smallest little detail she wants to make sure you are happy. She did a stellar job making my dress look like it was custom made even though it was big in nearly every single area when I originally bought it. Even though we had to delay our wedding 3 times due to COVID, she was so flexible in adjusting the fittings accordingly. Mary was the absolute best part of my wedding dress experience. 5 stars is an understatement. She is kind, warm and extremely talented. My dress needed many adjustments -- including removing and hand placing lace appliqué on the bodice and adding an entire row of satin buttons down the back. Mary is absolutely a saint. I don't know what I would have done without her! I was working on an extremely condensed timeline given COVID & delays with my dress being sent from Europe. Mary was able to squeeze me in, offered INCREDIBLY thorough highlights and follow-ups after our first appointment and told me up front exactly what the costs were (which were incredibly competitive).

I used The Alterationist for my December 2019 wedding after my sister used her two years before for her wedding dress and had the best experience. No surprise, she was absolutely incredible again! I am a very petite person and was really nervous about getting the right fit for my dress and she made it fit me like a glove! Mary is a godsend. My Jenny Yoo wedding dress fit relatively well out of the gate, but Mary was able to make small tweaks that made it incredibly comfortable and fit like a glove. Her attention to detail is unparalleled! She not only fixed a lining that was slightly flipping out, she also removed a few finicky stitches on a section of lace that was scratching my back a bit. Mary was a magician with my dress. I brought her a much too big sample, and she hand-stitched and cut and sewed it to fit me perfectly! I was so so happy with my wedding dress, and would not have taken it off it was it my choice. Mary is very patient, and a wonderful listener. Mary did an absolutely amazing job. My dress was several sizes off because it was a sample size and she made it fit it perfectly. We also changed the style of the dress to make it more personalized and Mary added hand-sewn lace to the bodice. In the end I had exactly the dress I wanted. My dress was not easy to alter (I'm super short and there was a lot of "stuff" to be done), but she did an outstanding job. I cannot begin to describe how much respect I have for her, when I started off simple enough with one easy dress from BHLDN and then I came to her a few months later with another wedding dress I planned to wear...and it was a massive ballgown ( I couldn't pass up the cost I received for it, it was meant to be!). Mary could not have been more reliable, responsive, kind and wonderful to work with. Even though she is a very busy business owner (seriously her shop is full of dresses) she got back to me immediately and would remind me of appointments (I was used to having to do that for my other vendors). I'm 4"11' and chose a dress with a very deep V. Making it look romantic, but not overly sexy wasn't a small order. She made my dress fit me perfectly.
