Cedar Point Yacht Club is a community of sailors who share a common interest in sailboat racing and sailing. We're all about the fun, friendship, and community to be had "messing around in boats, " and getting together afterward at one of the prettiest spots on Long Island Sound. With a 130+ year racing tradition and more than 100 days of racing each season, our members' commitment to the sport speaks for itself.
CPYC promotes high-quality, friendly competition, good sportsmanship, and camaraderie among sailors. We are a volunteer-driven club with racing, social, cruising, and other sailing-related activities that appeal to sailors of different skills, experience, and interests. In addition to our vibrant racing, junior sailing, and women's sailing programs we host an extensive regatta schedule including numerous regional and national championships.

Services
Cedar Point Yacht Club (CPYC) is located on Bluff Point as part of Saugatuck Island in Westport, Connecticut, overlooking Long Island Sound at the mouth of the Saugatuck River. The property was designed with sailboat racing in mind, and the facilities are perfectly suited for running a wide variety of one-design and handicap races and social activities afterwards.
Cedar Point Yacht Club welcomes visiting yachts, including flotillas from other yacht clubs. We have dock space and depths to 8' at Mean Low Water (MLW) in our well protected basin on a space-available basis and can usually accommodate cruises from other clubs on holiday weekends. Most slips have 30 amp electric service (a few have 50 amp) and fresh water hookups.
From Interstate 95 Northbound get off at Connecticut exit 16 in East Norwalk. Turn RIGHT off the exit ramp. At the third traffic light, turn LEFT onto Winfield Avenue (immediately after passing under the railroad tracks). Go approximately 1.1 miles and turn RIGHT onto Duck Pond Road. Go 0.3 miles and turn LEFT onto Harbor Road.
Charlie learned to sail and windsurf on Long Island Sound and in the Adirondacks and started racing Thistles after college. He joined Cedar Point in 1997. Charlie has also raced Lasers, JY15s, and Vanguard 15s and crewed in PHRF races. He most loves racing with his wife Allison and his daughters, Haley and Gracy, and says, My commitment as a volunteer is inspired by CPYC's mission of promoting sailboat racing.
Most rooms are between $89 and $99 per night for these hotels, and can accommodate several people. Mention you are attending a Cedar Point Yacht Club regatta to get the best rate. There are several pages of results; the first page comes up with generally smaller places, many of the closest are really more motels.

Cedar Point Yacht Club is one of the finest adult and Jr. Sailing clubs on Long Island sound - it has had and produced many national sailing champions. I was fortunate to go through the 1960s youth race sailing program - When Russ Jones was an instructor - we learned excellent sailing methods but more importantly - we learned sportsmanship.
I was fortunate to learn advanced racing from club member - Linda Jager - who went on to become North America Women's Champion - and this was a time when Ted Fontelieu was National Thistles Champion - Jim Allen was National Lightening Champion and we also had
