Pizzeria La Sorrentina
La Sorrentina started out in a shiny blue food cart located over on 78th street in Hazel Dell, and we joined another food cart pod over at the Hazel Dell Commons shortly after. Our food truck was the perfect introduction of pizza Napoletana to our amazing Vancouver WA community. It was the perfect springboard into what is now our restaurant.

Daisuke was born in Osaka, Japan but was raised on Southern Italian cuisines. His father, Tomio Matsumoto, was one of the first Italian chefs in Japan and a champion chef that won a cooking competition in the early 70's. Daisuke was encouraged to study law and Judo, but his aspiration was to own a Southern Italian restaurant.
Services
Giving you peace of mind, before giving us a call and ordering our delicious pizzas, is our top priority! Here are some of the FAQs from our customers to keep you informed. We pride ourselves on making authentic pizza napoletana following the 1,000 year old recipe of making dough with only water, yeast, sea salt and flour.

I genuinely hate to leave a bad review, but I think it's important for Vancouver residents to know - so many of us who seek a decent pizza in the area. I ordered a pepperoni pizza from here with a side of marinara... the pizza was just bad. No expectations for it to be a certain style - this was inherently bad. Soggy dough and sloppily put together. The sauce - which I can confirm because of the extra side - was undoubtedly canned crushed tomatoes and maybe nothing else. Absolutely no flavor. Maybe we caught a bad night, or maybe the other dishes are acceptable. I can't understand how this place

Best Neapolitan pizza that I've ever had! The chef is top notch. The nutella calzone is also delicious (I got it without ricotta cheese) and you can't help but smile ear to ear while eating it.

Pizza was soightly above average but I'm sorry it's truly robbery to serve a personal size pizza and charge $25

Terrific experience! They catered to our every need. When I showed up, they had high chairs, a baby cup and two toddler cups ready with water. The service was impeccable, you genuinely felt like you were at a family restaurant while still having a quality Napoli pizza.
For the pizza-
This is the best pizza in town. Can’t recommend enough

We had a birthday dinner here for an 8 year old. It really is the perfect place for all ages. Young ones can have a simple and delicious cheese pizza and the adults can have mind blowing pasta. This is hands down one of the best places for homemade pasta dishes - I say that after only one visit. Next visit I'm gonna try the pizza, unless of course they have another spectacular special... 5/5 would recommend.

Fantastic pizza - as good or better as anything I've had in naples or elsewhere - high quality ingredients, impeccable cornicione, and a competency and passion that clearly showed in every aspect of the food.

Great service, and the cannoli was the stuff dreams are made of; taking a bite and tasting the orange peel, pistachio, and chocolate was like being transported back to southern Italy. We will be back!

My only two quibbles (which were not really quibbles at all) were - despite a stellar wine list with great makers, the menu only seemed to show the grape - however, great that they&apos

Best house-made pastas in our area!!! The risotto: incredible, so much flavor, with mushrooms & pancetta. Loved the clams pasta. Pizza: dough almost naan-like. Definitely try the specialty of the day. Pepperoni was great too. After eating a huge meal, I didn't feel bloated or greasy at all. Clean, non-pretentious atmosphere. Bravo!

Great Napoli style pizza. The crust is what makes it so good. A soft, but crisp and a bit of chew. Toppings are all high quality. The pies are a bit on the small side. But one pie and a salad fed two of us without leftovers.
I have not had the chance to dine in, though it is available. To go was simple and no issues.

Had a pedicure next door and it was dinner time so, we decided to give this place a try. We started with the steamed mussels and had a very good broth with lots of garlic. Very tasty.

Ravioli was a special of the night, ordered two of those along with a calamari appetizer and a pizza. It was all very good and the 4 of us shared. There were several other items we wanted to try, but this was enough for one night.

Nicole was our waitress and was excellent. The mussels came out first and we shared, then the calamari and we shared that. Rest of the entrees came out together. We were very

What a disappointment. Been wanting to try for a longtime. It may be their "style" but not for me. Whimsy crust, not cooked thru. Pieces you are supposed to fold over to eat
Maybe it's too authentic for me
Wont be going back

We were so surprised at the quality & flavors... pizza will never be the same for us. Amazing authentic Italian pizza & pasta. The dough was voodoo magic... I don’t know how else to explain how it was crispy then melted in my mouth!?! I can’t say enough good things about the chef’s skills.
I’ve now gone twice equally impressed both times.

This place is pretty good! The appetizers are great. The pizza is typically soggy in the dead center, which bothers me a bit. We haven't tried the pasta, but it seems to be very popular.

Fantastic food and service. This is a real Italian pizzeria with excellent standard menu items as well as specials. This is not Pizza Hut so don’t roll in expecting to build some custom giant american pie… go elsewhere to do that. If you want true Neapolitan style pizza this is your place. Read their website for details before you go!
Chef Daisuke Matsumoto has created an amazing Italian menu of antipasto through dessert. Worth the trip no matter where you are! Reservations (even on short notice) will get you in faster then showing up, but walk-ins are okay!

There are no words to describe what a treat it is to be able to dine at this establishment. The ingredients to make each dish alone are a privilege- you can absolutely tell just by the taste.

It's incredible to be able to go to a restaurant and get an authentic Italian meal made with so much love and passion. I highly recommend trying this establishment out, it's a special place!

I highly recommend the Octopus salad to start. The octopus was perfection. Tender and citrusy- the oil and lemon mixed with the other flavors of the salad ingredients were fabulous. Light, refreshing and

Vancouver is SO LUCKY to have Chef Daisuke in our town. I had only previously eaten at his truck, which was amazing, but limited mostly to pizza. Now he has the space to produce other wonderful Italian specialties. I had lunch here yesterday with my son and DIL. It was great, since we had the opportunity to try several different dishes.

Excellent ingredients expertly and authentically prepared. Portland should be jealous of this gem across the river from them.

I found this restaurant interesting. Unlike American pizzerias at this one you can choose from their mixes and add or remove accordingly.
The crust was characteristically thin as in Italy, but I guess I'm used to our American crusts.
Still very tasteful.

Great experience here on a Saturday afternoon for dine-in. Went in looking for some good pizza, but was pleasantly surprised to see a small selection of pastas.
The pizza is excellent with tasty ingredients and a nice hand-made crust finished in their wood-burning oven. We got the Diavola for some nice spice. We also got the gnocchi gorgonzola. It is hard to find a good white sauce gnocchi so we ordered it as soon as we saw it. Pair with the focaccia for best effect.
They have a few beers on tap and a few more in cans. Also some wine by the glass and by the bottle.
Service is great and atmosphere

Only thing is the delusion that pineapple Doesn't belong on pizza in America.
So silly
In Italy pineapple is on everything it's a staple of sweet and savory in most provinces. Omg last time we we were in Gorizia where my grandmother lives. We had a weird pineapple

Great spot - including spacious outdoor dining - for upper echelon quality thin pizza and Italian dishes.

The Quattro Formaggi and the Puttanesco were standouts, and that pepperoni was loaded.

Loved those Arancini balls that were on special.

The three pasta and one ravioli dishes were a big step up from casual dining Italian places.

The three desserts did not disappoint, the flowerless chocolate cake was moister than expected.

Their Hazy Orange Whip beer was memorably yummy!

Owners are super cool and friendly, it was nice to see them stopping by many tables. Service was surprisingly fast
