First apartment I didn't have to pay a professional to CLEAN prior to unpacking. If there's ever been a problem, they've always been very patient with me, always found a solution. I refer Volpe to all my clients ( I'm a Barber on JFK Blvd ) Plus, their pricing is reasonable.
Also, due to pandemic I had a couple of financial scares.

I am a current tenant in Graduate Hospital renting off of Volpe for the last 10 months. How nice it is to rent off of a family owned business. They are such a nice group of people and go above and beyond to help with any maintenance requests. They always respond to emails within 2 hours and follow up to make sure things are taken care of. I have been renting for 5 years in this neighborhood and they are by far the best landlord/management company I have worked with.

We rented from Volpe in Graduate Hospital from June 2017 - June 2018. Prior to renting, we were worried when we read some of their less favorable reviews on Yelp. However, we ended up renting from them and had an entirely positive experience.

Please don't use them as a Property Management company. They are non-responsive and not organized at all. They don't have reliable vendors and do not have the property owner best interest. They will do repairs and you won't find out until you get your statement. You can never get in touch with the owners and it is a terrible experience. Please think twice before picking them.

STAY AWAY! I rented an apartment through this property management and can't believe they are in business still. They have a ton of property in Graduate Hospital but they are slum lords. The properties are not taken care of. I can't even say they are maintained. They just give it as is to the next people. We had mice and it took pestering by my roommate and I to get them to do anything. The bathroom flooring nearly caved in from rotting wood underneath to the point that the toilet was beginning to collapse into the ground and the tiles around it began cracking. The broker here will not only nickel and dime you, but you will also be subject to petty theft. Do not be fooled. This company ripped us off when we allowed them to represent us in a transaction. Vince Volpe charged us for title work that we never authorized. He also took money due to us at settlement from tenants we inherited. The final straw is when he never even told the tenants that their building was sold and continued collecting rental payments from them and would not turn it over to us the new owners. This guy is a slum lord that just so happens to have an office

I lived in one of their apartments in Graduate Hospital and never had a problem! They were always there, answered all of my questions, and catered to all of my needs. I loved my landlord, we saw him on a weekly basis. If anyone in the building had a complaint, they would always fix the problem. For example, we saw a mouse in the apartment and within a week the exterminator came. In the summer, I came home to see that they installed a new AC unit in my apartment before I even asked for one. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with Volpe and my landlord!

Vincent is really the worst. Renters, buyers, owners, BEWARE! He will sugar coat everything on the phone and yea yea yea you, just to get you off the phone. ( even if you can get him on the phone. the front girls, one young one old, have such an attitude. ) Theres a reason you've never heard of this real estate agency, they are the absolute worst.

I rented a 1br apt above the Volpe office and had a great experience. When I moved in and had an issue with the fridge they fixed it right away. They also replaced the aging washer/dryer while I was there. It was great having the property owner/manager downstairs. Everyone in the office is friendly and get my recommendation.

These guys is a evil empire, built to take advantage of graduate students. I am a graduate student, I rented a one bedroom apartment from them. I am older, work part time during school. I never have parties, never made noise, paid rent on time, and never made a mess. I spent a lot of time working in my studio at Penn.
They were very nice at first, taking my 1month deposit, first and last month rent. When I return the apartment, even after spending half a day making the apartment spotless, they wouldn't return any of my money. The mistake at my part was I forgot I paid them last month

Our landlord is currently using Volpe to advertise the apartment we are moving out of, and Volpe is completely lacking all professionalism when it comes to showing the apartment. They forget to let us know about appointments, and have three times now failed to let us know when a showing has been canceled, leaving us hanging around the apartment with our thumbs our you-know-whats. If they can't even show a property properly, I am terrified about how they would handle maintenance issues for anyone else.

Do not rent from Volpe, unless you are a carpenter, electrician and plumber all rolled into one.
I rented from Volpe about 3 years ago. The house that I rented was super cheap which should have given me a clue.
5 Examples of why not to rent:
1) Volpe only responded my requests to fix things, like the flooded basement, when I threatened to call my attorney.
2) When I asked that they clean the place before I moved in as it was filthy they told me they would, but I arrived to the last tenants same mail on the floor and dirt and grime every where.
3) When I asked that they repair the windows

Volpe real estate rents and sells almost exclusively in the graduate hospital neighborhood of philadelphia. from my experience, they charge low rents and expect their tenants to deal with poorly maintained apartments. their service lowers the bar for philadelphia landlords that already have a terrible reputation.
