Services
There are multiple advantages to being cared for by a physician who is "out-of-network". Insurance claims for out of network care can seem confusing but do not need to hinder you from receiving the care you deserve. With the advent of "managed" care, large hospital-based and corporate medical practices, and with increasing governmental controls of healthcare, you, the patient, are progressively being taken out of the decision-making process.
Prk, or Photorefractive Keratectomy, is the process of using an excimer laser to reshape the cornea so light focuses naturally on the retina. PRK Eye Surgery was the first procedure to use the excimer laser to treat many types of refractive errors and is still the procedure of choice for certain patients.
Before PRK eye Surgery please begin taking ONLY the antibiotic Vigamox (or Quixin or Zymar) drops FOUR times (breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime) on the day before the procedure. Take the antibiotic Vigamox (or Quixin or Zymar) drops in the morning and at lunchtime on the day of the procedure BEFORE going to the laser center.
Immediately following the laser vision correction procedure, soft contact lenses are placed on the eyes to facilitate the first phase of surface healing. Please do NOT remove the contact lenses by yourself. Much of this first phase after PRK Surgery will occur within the first 3-4 days post-operatively.

My vision and eye health have been a source of profound fear for the bulk of my life; meeting Dr. Belgorod is one of the greatest fortunes of my life. I have been his patient for 20 years. He possesses all the desired traits of a doctor: methodical, thorough, exacting, a gentle and steady hand, proactive, communicative and warm. Even if you don’t have eye problems I recommend a visit with Dr. Belgorod, if only to experience truly exquisite care from a medical professional.

The Doctor literally saved my life. When I visited him due to a cloudy area obstructing my vision, he immediately called my cardiologist and requested a carotid artery ultrasound. The ultrasound confirmed Dr. Belgorod's concerns and an MRI showed an 80% blockage. I have known Dr. Belgorod for a number of years and have always appreciated the thorough, precise and experienced care he offers to each of his patients. It is reassuring to know he is also an advocate for his patients.
