My first time here - I came for Veracruz. I was captured by a view of bowls filled with different veggies in a row in the morning outside the camper. The sounds of vibrant Dominican music filled the air around this camper.
Inside, you find a chef dancing to the music while the smell of amazing food is boiling away. Chef Melvin is chill and clearly happy doing what he does - putting out amazing food. I was full off of Veracruz that morning, but I just had to try the man's Empandas. The chef is clasically trained which is superb and it shows in his cookinf. He had 3 types of Empandas: Beef

These empanadas are generously stuffed pouches! I enjoyed the beef and chicken versions. The chef uses a pasta maker machine to roll out the empanada dough per order, so the fried empanada dough is both crispy on the outside, but juicy on the inside. Great attention to their fillings, and very reasonably priced. Also, that last pinch of melted cheese inside one of the corners of the empanada is a very nice touch.

After ordering at this humble food truck, I received my empanadas and salad, sat down, and continued to have an epiphany that will greatly increase my overall happiness in life by an estimated 3%:
Eat more empanadas. (Happiness results may vary from person to person).
Melvin, who is a one-man army, caught me looking at the menu and simply told me to go for a beef empanada, vegetable empanada, and a salad.
The dressing for the salad is one that would influence me to eat more salads if blessed with this combination of oil and acid.
The empanadas were a 10/10 in every category you can grade

These are so good! Each empanada is made to order, so it takes about 10 minutes before you get your food. They come out at a perfect temperature. The chicken empanada has a good bite and chipotle flavor. The filling in the beef empanada kind of reminds me of a chili. The vegetarian option is filled with a ratatouille mix (squash, eggplant, and caramelized onions) and has an interesting taste. I definitely liked the meat ones better.

What a gem of a spot! I ordered both the beef and chicken empanadas. The beef empanada was bursting with unparalleled flavor, and the rich complexities were coupled perfectly with the tangy chipotle mayo. The chicken was excellent too, and everything was very fresh. To top it off, the lady who took our order was incredibly kind and helpful.

Amazing! There's no doubt that Melvin puts his heart and soul into his empanadas. This is one of my go to food recommendations for new arrivals and visiting friends and family because I know this place will never disappoint. The food is made to order from scratch so make sure to build in time for that. It's definitely worth the wait!

Love the word play. The man inside the trailer is very warm and welcoming. He accepts cash. The empanada was delicious. Ratatouille. Vegetarian. There is cheeze inside but not overwhelmingly. The pan is very nice texture and delicious. The green sauce is very good although not spicy. What a nice touch to press the word: DOUGHMINICAN into the empanada. Que cool. I will return. Gracias.

Stopped by here to try a single beef empanada because I just had to. The chef was solo and doing an amazing job of taking orders, cooking, and acting as cashier. He was also super nice. The empanada was amazingly delicious. The beef had a superb flavor and there was a good amount of cheese inside of it. Will definitely come back to try the other flavors.
