Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. The entire exam process can take an hour depending on the complexity of the problem.
Dr. Shannon Chandler, Dr. Lesa Davis and Dr. Dorothea Muniz are independent doctors of optometry located inside of Visionworks(C) on Blue Diamond Road. Drs. Chandler, Davis and Muniz are regarded among the most outstanding providers of eye care services in the Las Vegas area.

Dr. Shannon Chandler attended Kent State University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 1996. She went on to attend The Ohio State University College of Optometry and received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2002. Dr. Chandler relocated to Nevada in 2002 to serve the Las Vegas community. Dr. Chandler is committed to helping the greater Las Vegas area by providing eye care services through the Lions Club to those in need.
The human eye is the organ of sight closely related to the brain and is best compared to a camera. Like a sophisticated camera, the eye has multiple discrete parts which must function together properly to produce clear vision. The function of the eye is to convert light into an electro-chemical signal, which is then transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve.
Astigmatism is a common eye condition that is corrected by eyeglasses, contact lenses, or surgery. Astigmatism is characterized by unequal curvatures of the cornea. Astigmatism can occur in nearsighted or farsighted persons; or can be found alone, in all cases it results in blurry vision. A person's cornea is spherical in shape and when light enters the eye, the cornea refracts or bends light, creating a clear image of the object.

I've been a patient of Dr Chandler for 12 years.
Dr Chandler is a highly accurate, competent, and caring professional. I always enjoy seeing her for my annual eye exam because I know I'm going to receive the very best monolens contact fitting. Her office staff are extremely professional and friendly!

Dr. Chandler and her wonderful staff at Visionworks on Blue Diamond deserve the Best of Las Vegas award for their professionalism, customer support, and positive, friendly attitude. I have very difficult to fit contacts and each year, for the past several years, Dr. Chandler has persevered in making sure that I have the very best possible fit. Her knowledge, problem-solving skills, and patience each time she takes on the challenge of fitting my contacts is exceptional. Dr S. Chandler, is truly a doctor of integrity. My thorough exam proved to be so very informative and helpful. Dr. Chandler's integrity is one of firm foundation, she is credible and honest; if you don't need glasses (other than readers), she will say so! She not only took the time and utmost of care, she is also very honest and accountable to her medical profession. The staff was just as reflective of the same care, kindness and thoroughness.

I have been seeing Dr. Chandler and Dr. Davis for my eye care simultaneously for the past 5 years straight. They are an absolute delight.
I always have trouble with contacts etc and they are always willing to work with me until we get it right no matter what! It is also very impressive
when you don’t see a particular doctor regularly yet they remember/review your info and recall your particular situation in order to provide the best care and it shows.
In a time where I have had much trouble finding other professional/attentive medical providers, it has been a breath of fresh air knowing I
