We really enjoyed our meal here. We got the seven-item veggie combo (all their veggie dishes), doro wat, lamb tibs, and honey wine. The gluten-free injera was fantastic, and so were each of the other items. I especially liked the doro wat and yemisir wat (lentils in red pepper sauce). The honey wine was interesting too - not the same as mead but hard to describe. It's worth trying. We'll come here again!

We ended up at Abyssinia when our go-to Queen of Sheba was closed. Very glad we did!
The food was top notch. Got all veg dishes and 3 meats and absolutely loved it all. Ate until we were stuffed and still had food left over.
And as much as I also love the food at Queen of Sheba and the owner there is lovely, the service at Abyssinia is much better and faster and the prices are cheaper. We will definitely be back.

Simply put, this is an incredible experience! The food, service, atmosphere and attention to detail separates this restaurant from the rest. Whenever we are in London, this is the place we head to. The chef's tasting menu with wine pairings is exceptional. Couldn't give this a higher recommendation!

Ordered the Abyssinia Mixed Combo online and it was delivered promptly. It included x2 meat options and x4 veggie. All was plentiful including the bread, it probably was more for 4 people. Really enjoyed the food and it’s something different and good to have different options during lockdown then the usual takeaway. Was looking for good Ethiopian food in the area for a while and I guess I’ve found it.

A small local restaurant that makes great vegan food. We ordered the Vegan Combo for three and it was just as tasty as any other Ethiopian food I've had from places in central London. Pretty healthy too! The portion is probably enough for four as we had lots left over.
We haven't managed to eat in yet as we only discovered it after the COVID lockdown but are looking forward to doing so. Wish there wasn't so much plastic involved in the takeaway orders, but what can you do really.

I'm pescatarian and my partner is vegetarian so we just came in today for lunch for 2 7-sampler veggie plates, tons of extra injera, the Abyssinia salad, and some lentil puff pastry apps.
This review will be short.
The salad was AMAZING. We received 2 containers, 1 smaller than the other, so if that was on the house.. thank you kindly! Fresh carrots, tomato, red onions, fresh greens..but that dressing though. Please sell it!! All of the 7 veggie portions were full of spices and delicious. The puff pastry was airy and crispy, golden. The injera was as fluffy and pillowy as you'd expect

First time sampling Ethiopian cuisine and feel like this was the right place to go. Yes, the decor is a little dated but the food and the service more than make up for it. The sharing platter is the best way to try several different items at once and is very reasonably priced. Would certainly recommend

We had a great experience here! My husband & I came here for a date night. We're not super savvy when it comes to Ethiopian cuisine, so we came for the activity. It was fun to try a new dining experience that felt more interactive than the typical American style dining. The meal is served family style & typically eaten using your hands.
The atmosphere was very friendly & welcoming, & smelled delicious! We came early Saturday evening, & had no trouble getting a table. We were unsure what to order. Luckily they offer a couple of different sampler plates, & they

The staff is always welcoming. Food was full of flavours we had the injera with vegan stews. I had no words every of the stew was differently flavoured and some new interesting spices added into it. I wish I can eat it everyday. Food is reasonably priced. I love when they play their Ethiopian songs. We will be back!

A friend and I came here for some food SOS during the middle of helping her move. We came at an odd time in the afternoon, 2 pm and still had really great customer service.
We started with the lentil sambusa which was a delicious palette opener. Perfectly seasoned lentils folded into a flat but crispy dough. The dipping sauce was Thai chili sauce which was unexpected but worked with the flavors.
My main was the Doro Wot which was two chicken legs with a hard boiled egg in spicy berbere sauce. I love the yellow split peas and got that as a side. I washed everything down with an Ethiopian lager
