Services
Dr. Anthony G. Johnson has been practicing pediatric dentistry since 1998. In 2003, he opened Johnson Pediatric Dentistry, and has been providing optimal dental care to children in Bowie, Hyattsville and the surrounding areas ever since. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from S.U.N.Y. College at New Paltz and received his Doctorate from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.
Your treatment plan will include a breakdown of all applicable fees, and we will inform you of all costs before treatment is administered. For your convenience, we accept cash, American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover credit cards. Third-party financing is also available through CareCredit. Payment is expected at the time treatment is rendered, unless special arrangements have been made prior to your appointment.
Your child won't keep his or her first teeth forever, but that doesn't mean those tiny pearly whites don't need conscientious care. Maintaining your child's dental health now will provide health benefits well into adulthood, as primary (baby) teeth serve some extremely important functions. For one thing, primary teeth serve as guides for the eruption of permanent (adult) teeth, holding the space into which these new teeth will erupt.
Along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, we recommend that a child's first dental visit be scheduled by his/her 1st birthday. It is very important to make the first visit as positive and enjoyable for the child as possible. We want your child to enjoy getting to know our doctor and staff and be comfortable at all times.
A toothbrush with soft bristles and a small head, especially one designed for infants, is the best choice for infants. Brushing at least once a day, at bedtime, will remove plaque bacteria that can lead to decay. To prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears, usually between 6 and 12 months of age, certainly no later than his/her first birthday.

My 6 year old has been going to Johnson Pediatric Dentistry for the past year. She no longer feels anxiety when I mention a dentist appointment. They are very professional, and just GREAT at what they do. She feels confident and comfortable speaking with the staff. Their office environment is great for kids & parents. I highly recommend becoming part of the Johnson Pediatric Dentistry Family.
