Best Thai Food in the RIC! Worth the covered patio for the views of the Carytown scenery. Take in a sunny day there and enjoy my fav Pad Thai Chicken at Ginger Thai Taste!

If -5 stars was a thing that's what this establishment would get. Sat down to order and got waters to start while deciding on a cocktail. After asking for a lemon the waiter placed our lemons on the bare table. Then a fat city rat walked through the dining room into the kitchen. This rat was huge and was in no rush or startled by people, mind you it was 3pm. You truly can't make this s*** up. It was disgusting, I immediately got up and left the place.

I've been to this restaurant several times, and have gotten a different order each time. Consistently delicious and quick! It seems like a family owned business, and I've only ever seen one older woman working the front end. She's constantly running around, handling the drinks, phone calls/take out, bussing tables, and checking people out, so I think some of the reviews complaining about the service are a bit harsh. She's always very very sweet and is quick to put in orders and refilling drinks- even if you don't ask. If you're into spicy food, I would recommend getting

Wonderful meal in a pleasant setting. Great conversation with owner. Since my wife and I are not from Richmond it was a great choice to have dinner here. I can definitely understand why the locals like it.

I've never really realized this before today, but Ginger Thai is hands down the best in town. The price has gone up but it is well worth every penny. I had the Spicy Tom Yum Noodle Soup (as is) and the Pineapple Fried Rice (pork), and my mind (and taste buds) was blown away by the flavor. You can also choose the spicy level as you see fit (mild - make me cry). If you're looking for the best Thai food while in Richmond, come to this place and try their Tom Yum soup. You will not be disappointed.

Came here in a group of 5. Shared things family style: drunken noodles, pad thai, pineapple fried rice, and panang curry. The dishes were all okay, but in my opinion they weren't anything exceptional. The pineapple fried rice was very bland in particular. We also got thai teas for some of us, which I enjoyed but the others complained about being *too* sweet. Which is saying a lot, considering it's thai tea. There was also no music, TV, or other media playing in the background which was a bit uncomfortable since it was just my table and one other, making it so that we could hear everything

The Spicy Basil was the best I've tasted in a long time and I eat Thai food frequently. The gravy was amazing. I only gave 4 stars because the pad thai was a bit sweet for me but boyfriend enjoyed it and the decoy needs updating. Genuinely Authentic! A must try and favorite for me.

We have been coming to this restaurant for well over 3 years. This is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is always made fresh to order. The vegetables (I'm a vegetarian) are always fresh, the service is quick, and the prices are very reasonable. The environment is always clean and sits right on The corner of W. Cary and McCloy. They also season your food according to your degree of spiciness. After eating you can always take a stroll through Carytown (just steps away).

All the food was amazing. I ordered the pad thai with tofu and the pineapple fried rice with tofu. Both were well made; however, the pad thai tasted significantly better. It was probably the best pad thai I've ever had. Personally, I thought that the tofu was dry and flavorless so I ate around the tofu because the rest of the dish tasted great. My boyfriend also ordered the Thai iced tea and really enjoyed it as well.

Love this place!! Even though they are only open for takeout, the food is delicious!! We were glad that the weather was nice enough to eat outside on their patio - if you do that too, please be respectful and clean up afterwards. They are always so gracious and sweet to us, I am glad that they are still open for business.

Side note: they are also selling beautiful face masks! Love it!!

I ordered take-out from the gem last weekend during my visit to Richmond. Let me tell you - I am a VERY picky Thai food eater because I've had incredibly Thai in so many places. BUT this spot did NOT disappoint!!!

Although we couldn't have the experience of dining in due to COVID-19 precautions, we were able to do the take out option. The service was prompt and efficient. We waited less than fifteen minutes for our order to be fulfilled. The food was PHENOMENAL. Some of the best Thai I've had in a long time. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and spring rolls. Both were cooked to perfection

I got chicken pad Thai (I'm basic) and it was about a 3/5. It wasn't bad but I've had better. The noodles seemed thinner than usual and the sauce consistency was more slimey than other paid Thai dishes I've had. Overall this wouldn't be my first pick for a Thai restaurant, but if a friend wanted to go I definitely wouldn't say no. (Btw I did have high hopes because I had been here once before around 2015 but I have to admit I was disappointed this time around). My dish just didn't feel as fresh or authentic as I would have hoped. Positive note - my friend got

This was my first time having thai food ever. I'm very impressed, not just with the food, but with the fact they're open even with this coronavirus situation. The pad thai was ready in 5 minutes, flavorful, not greasy, and every bite left me wanting more. Especially with the tofu. It was like nothing I'd ever eaten before: soft, moist, and combined with the pad thai it created an amazing amount of flavor.

This is my mom's and I favorite Thai food place! It's so delicious. The workers here are soo nice! The Asian lady who I believe owns the restaurant is just the sweetest. I've never came here and had a bad experience. Whenever I come here, I get the pad see ew then I get the chicken, shrimp and beef combo. The texture of the noodles that come with the pad see ew is very soft and smooth and that just makes me can't stop eating honestly. For the sauce, I usually get hot. I've tried getting Thai hot once and let's just say... it did not end well for me. The average American

This was my first restaurant in the Richmond area, so this restaurant would give me an impression of the types of restaurants in the area. This restaurant gave me a great impression and great vibe, so expect nothing but good to come out of my mouth.

When me and the group I was with walked in, it felt like my own home because it was antique and small. It was a very peaceful and simple environment that played modern music. We were seated right away and served quickly. There are many great options you'd expect in a Thai restaurant, so the menu will never be short on options. The waiter constantly

This place thrives off of its prime location in the middle of carytown, but does not have much to offer. It's nice to eat out at the patio and people watch when the weather is nice. Food isn't memorable, and price point is generally steep as well. If feeling Thai in this area, head over to Thai Diner Too instead, imo it's a much better restaurant.

Tasty lunch spot in Carytown. Friendly and quick service. The menu is extensive. I enjoyed the lunch entree of Spicy Basil with Tofu. This spot has both indoor and outdoor seating.
