I am a licensed psychotherapist who works with adults and young adults (18+) in individual psychotherapy. I am a certified AEDP therapist and AEDP supervisor-in-training. If you are on a journey to find ways to relieve stress, emotional difficulties or pain, or simply seek ways to feel "GOOD" about yourself, you've arrived at the right place.
I strongly believe that we all have our innate capacity to heal, grow and thrive. However, we sometimes feel lost in day-to-day busy-ness and stress, and it seems there's no way out. Some of us might have past wounds, which have never been compassionately attended and the pain resurfaced recently. It feels as if the darkness, clouds and heaviness are all over our body and mind and accompanied with a sense of powerless, helpless and hopeless.

Services
I am a NY state licensed psychotherapist (LMHC # 001905) based in Midtown, Manhattan and Westchester in New York. I am available for online counseling for clients who live in NY and Florida. I have a master's degree in counseling from NYU. My specialty areas are anxiety, panic, depression, insomnia, PTSD, interpersonal trauma such as domestic violence, sexual assault, and childhood sexual/physical abuse.
I value a holistic, integrative approach to help individuals restore their inner strength and secure sense of self, which embraces the wisdom of our body, emotions, heart and mind. My therapy style is relational and collaborative, and is informed by a healing-oriented, attachment-based, emotion-focused psychotherapy model called AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), with emphasis on mindfulness & compassion practices.
I offer consultation/supervision sessions for therapists who are new to AEDP and wish to deepen their knowledge and skills in this modality. My AEDP journey started from my own supervision with my AEDP supervisor. AEDP Supervision provides a warm, secure holding space which is based on a safe, trustful relationship.
Kaori is very warm and empathetic while being very professional. Prior to Kaori, I had never seen a therapist, but through Kaori I am a believer! Kaori is a very mindful listener and helps you navigate your own thought journey through her listening and levelheaded questioning. She does not ask leading questions and only pushes you to be as open as you are comfortable doing.
