Services
At myTherapyNYC, our process for connecting you to the right therapist is simple. After an initial free phone consultation to discuss how we can help you, we will place you with the therapist that is best suited to your needs. If, as you work with your therapist, you find the dynamic is not working for you, we'll make a switch to someone else.
Occasionally, some insurance plans have an in-network deductible. If this is the case, you will be responsible to pay in full (the fee in which we contracted with Blue Cross) until your deductible has been met. We only accept commercial plans. We do not accept Medicaid/Medicare Blue Cross Blue Shield plans or any plans through the Exchange.
You and a phone consultant will discuss any issues that you are currently looking to work on. This is also a good opportunity for you to ask any additional questions that you may have about our practice. There is no specific time frame when working on personal development and growth.

We are a private, group psychotherapy practice offering counseling and wellness services to individuals, couples, and groups. We provide a relational and holistic approach to therapy. We are seeking talented, educated, and progressive individuals to join myTherapyNYC as a per diem psychotherapist. We need a psychotherapist that will provide outpatient individual, couples, and group services to clients with mental health issues.

I loved my time with Don McCarthy who has my therapist for two years. He is a very good and generous person who provided me the space and validation to grow. The only reason I had to discontinue my sessions with him is because I've changed insurance plans! The practice, as a whole, is very responsive to client needs and concerns. I highly recommend Don and myTherapyNYC!

I had a very positive experience with this practice. I worked with my therapist for over a year and found it to be more beneficial than other practices because of the consistency and rapport I built with my therapist. Having virtual sessions and being flexible when I needed to reschedule was a great help. Overall, I made so much progress with this practice and am grateful for the wonderful staff that made it easy to communicate.

I’ve been with myTherapyNY for over 2 years. I have nothing but good things to say. I’ve been in individual therapy for two years and group therapy for one year. Both therapists are amazing professionals who are empathetic, kind and very good at what they do. I came in very depressed and angry, among other things, and I’ve made incredible progress. The therapists are excellent and are available after hours if needed for emergencies or concerns. I have not felt this safe and connected to myself and others in years.

I felt very well supported by this therapy practice. I attended both individual and group therapy, and I had an overwhelmingly positive experience. I believe that this practice hires very competent and compassionate clinicians and that many people would find a well-suited match for them among the staff of therapists. I also appreciate the blog posts and webinars that MyTherapyNYC shares publicly on a range of mental health topics. Definitely recommend for LGBTQ+ folks!

Had therapy with Taylor M. for about a year and I feel far more comfortable with who I am as a person and I've accepted a lot of myself. Virtual worked really well for me and they did a great job helping me handle all the various difficulties that sprung up in that year (hint: a lot). Would recommend to anyone. Only downside was having to stop because I moved to a different state for family reasons.

The entire team at myTherapyNYC is incredibly thoughtful and caring. The online patient portal made scheduling so easy to keep track of and teletherapy was so convenient and helpful during COVID. But honestly I cannot recommend Lisa enough. She is a compassionate and and intuitive therapist who really helps you center and honor your truest self. Anyone who works with her is incredibly lucky.

My husband and I LOVED our experience in couples therapy through myTherapyNYC -- Christy was extraordinary and empathetic, and asked such good questions. She really guided our sessions in a way I'd never experienced with a therapist before, and walked us through some hard times. Our relationship has been truly transformed by our work with her! We've really appreciated all that the practice itself offers too -- free webinars and helpful blog resources, etc -- and the office is very easy to work with. Highly recommend!

MyTherapyNYC was very useful in matching me with a therapist during the COVID lockdown and beyond. The internet portal made managing scheduling and payment easy and the video conferencing was pretty glitch free. The intake process was accurate and succinct. This, combined with the number and quality of the participating practitioners, set me up for therapeutic success (if that is a thing).
