Smart Choice is a fair landlord from my experience. Lad was very helpful in finding a place for me to rent in a pinch. I stayed for 2.5 years because rent was pretty affordable, maintenance always came out in a timely manner, and they took pest control seriously. You can't really control who your neighbors are, but I met some good people in my time at my Smart Choice apartment. I left my apartment in great shape when I moved out and got my deposit back. Leave yours how you found it and they'll probably return yours too. I would recommend them to friends looking to rent in Springfield.

I have rented from Smart Choice Properties for the last 14 years. I was in one apartment for 11 years and I have been in my current apartment for the last three years. The main reason I have been with them so long is the maintenance department. It is excellent! I have never had a problem with maintenance issues. They are courteous and always on point. The properties are always kept up and are neat and clean. Whatever the problem is they correct it in a timely manner (usually within 3 days). As long as I live in Springfield, I hope to rent from this family owned company.

I have been renting with smart choice properties for almost 3yrs now and I love it here. I moved into a studio apartment and within months needed to upgrade to a 2bd rm. I did have to pay a fee to transfer my lease but that was not a problem and I was allowed to pay a bit more with my rent until it was paid off. I had my son apply for an apartment and within days he was approved and will be moving into his own apartment at 18. They are real good with pest control and if there is ever a problem just call the office. I even asked if they will install a new ceiling fan in my living room. I just signed

I’ve rented from Smart Choice for 2 years now. They have been so good in responding to any call or problem I have had. They are very prompt, pleasant & professional. Their maintenance department is top notch & go beyond to repair or teach the resident how to use anything in the apartment that they are not familiar with. Salt is provided in areas for ice & snow for safety. Parking is adequate for everyone. Dumpster are provided & lawn care. Laundry is also available for coin pay. I’m very pleased to be here.

I would not recommend this place i just found out they evicted me after they recived funding from the state for back rent which means i would have been paid up untill december of 2020. So meaning they stole goverment money wrongfully evicted and violtated a contract with the state when they signed for the 5k grant for rent. Thats okay because after many recorded phone calls voicemails that were left we have moved forward with assiting in a legal matter against this company to the office of the AG and have turned them into the fraud department with the FBI. If anyone else had this happen please

I lived at the apartments located in Park Ave for a little over 2 years and my experience was great. The apartments are well kept and very clean. The apartments are well insulated so the cost of electricity was cheap. I also loved that the apartments had really thick walls which helps minimize how much you hear the neighbors. The apartment I was in had all of the appliances including washer and dryer and for the price? It was very fair. The neighbors are quiet and friendly if you ever encounter them. I've been renting from Smart Choice for the past 2 years and I must say they are hands down the best property owners I've ever rented from. They are always very kind and willing to help with any issue I'm having. Not to mention I simply enjoy walking into their facility just to catch up with them when I haven't seen them in awhile. I truly feel like I'm in the presence of family when I'm around them, I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to rent in Springfield!
