Services
TCC serves families, couples, and individuals seeking to replace suffering with hope and compassion through clinical and professional excellence. Our therapists use a family systems approach to work with individuals, couples, families, adults, teens, and children. We specialize in relationship repair, healing and growth toward mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellness.
Coaching & Therapy have many similarities, but there are also some distinct differences. At the root of counseling is the treatment of a mental health or relationship issue that is causing significant distress for a person or a family. Coaching, on the other hand, presumes that an individual or family are actually doing fairly well but are in need of some extra guidance and support.
Chronic illness is a family experience, one that is shared by all. The demands of changed roles and routines and caregiving can cause guilt, anger, sadness, fear, anxiety and depression. Traverse Counseling & Consulting guides can help families understand these normal reactions to the stress of chronic illness and how to manage them, improving communication, and strengthening your coping and problem-solving skills.
Although Parenting is often difficult for all of us, it is particularly difficult in families where there has been conflict between parents. Parent Coaching is a service that supports individuals in recovering their parenting skills even when having great difficulty working with the other parent.
Parent Coaching is different from Co-parenting Counseling in that, Co-Parenting Counseling involves both parents while Parent Coaching involves only one parent assigned to an individual Parent Coach. At Traverse Counseling & Consulting our Parent Coaches work with clients to support them in being less reactive to the other parent and their children, helping them differentiate parent-to-parent conflict from issues with their children.

Do you feel prepared for these changes and equipped to have the necessary courageous conversations with your loved one and your family members? Do you want to be pro-active, and not wait until something critical happens to make a plan? All families experience changes in life, as members age. Families can get stuck in reactive patterns, where anxiety, grieving, hurt and anger may show up, as their elderly loved one changes with time.

Do not use these people!! They are horrible and rely on emotional manipulated of actual emotional healing
i found the counselors emotionally cold, distant and untrustworthy. They only care about reviving their fees not about the people they counsel. My famiily was much happier at less expensive, more caring practioners

I have been working with Traverse Counseling & Consulting for the past few years. They are a top notch agency with excellent staff. I utilize Traverse for many families in need of therapy and support specifically with substance abuse. They are an excellent resource for anyone looking for family therapy, individual support or guidance.

As a pastoral counselor, I am delighted to be able to refer people who need additional help to Traverse Counseling and Consulting. I have found the therapists to be caring and compassionate and extremely knowledgable about mental health and healthy relationships. One of the things that impresses me most about the therapists at Traverse is that they realize the significance of families and family systems and don’t just focus on individuals or couples, but work with the whole family to bring health to everyone in the family and to the environment in which they live.

All this place cares about is money and policies. They also don't take any insurance so it's all out of pocket. I had an initial consult with two therapists and it was $400 for an hour. Since it was just a meet 'n greet, I didn't get much out of it. A couple weeks later, I arrived 20 minutes late to my 4 year old daughter's first appointment due to circumstances outside of my control (and had called to let them know).
I asked if I could still get the full hour since it's $200 for an hour. They said NO, you'll still have to pay full price for the 35 minutes you have left. I asked if they could

I've met a lot of professionals and toured a number of programs in Minnesota and across the midwest. When you aren't beholden to insurance companies, it's amazing how you are able to help people. Operating outside of the traditional care model, Traverse Counseling & Consulting has built a practice based upon the belief that the system or environment in which unhealthy behavior is taking place needs understanding and attention - not just the individual acting out. There is incredible value in this approach. Traverse is always on my referral list when I am working to connect families or couples with

I have been referring to Traverse Counseling for years - especially for those who I am working with who are looking for support for children who have been impacted by the disease of addiction. Each time that I do, I get a call from the adult in that child's life thanking me for the referral. Every single time. I'm grateful for the Traverse staff and the tireless work that they do.
