I am a licensed clinical psychologist, and I have had a passion for helping couples since I began my graduate training. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate PhD work at Michigan State University, and I did my predoctoral clinical internship at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. After receiving my PhD in 2013, I worked at Pine Rest's Northeast Clinic where I did both individual and couples therapy.

In 2015, I started at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) as a professor in the Psychology Department. I love working at GVSU, because I am able to serve in a variety of roles that I value including teaching, mentoring students, and conducting research on couples dynamics. Since I began my job at GVSU, I have also maintained a small practice one day per week at Pine Rest.
Services
I provide 75 minute extended couples therapy sessions instead of standard 50 minute therapy sessions. I have found the extra time to be critical to working through breakthroughs that can happen in sessions that may then get cut off with only 50 minutes to process. I work with couples from diverse backgrounds with regards to age, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.
I've compiled a list of the most frequent questions that I have received over my career. It's normal and encouraged for couples to ask many questions when choosing to work with a Licensed Psychologist. Here are some answers to the questions I receive the most. If you can't find what you are looking for, please get in touch.
Research suggests that greater satisfaction in your romantic relationship is significantly associated with greater general life satisfaction. Distressing relationships are associated with a range of physical, emotional, and psychological problems. Couples therapy is a unique opportunity to invest into the health of your relationship.

Dr Wildey is an exceptional psychologist. She is incredibly empathetic and is passionate about helping individuals to heal and improve their bonds with one another. She is also LGBTQIAP+ affirming and provides a safe place for her clients to explore and grow in their relationships. As a psychologist myself, I have referred several people to her for couples/relationship therapy and I am always struck by her ability to quickly connect with her clients and to help them to navigate ways to deepen their relationships and to heal from relational struggles. I strongly recommend Dr Wildey’s therapy services
