Food was amazing! Grill master was Fantastic! We almost walked out. Never being here before we did not realize that there was a minimum amount of Hibachis to be ordered for her party. There is no signage, we were not informed so we all ordered our entres from the menu after recieving drinks. waitress then informed us we were no longer able to sit at out table because we didn't have enough grill orders. We decided to leave due to the embarrassing communication. A manager came over and approved. If she simply would have said we do require a minimum order of hibachi per party - we would have changed

Unfortunately bad service. Long wait times to be greeted, extremely long wait on drinks (we started googling other places in the area because it was taking so long we were going to leave), server never really checks in, and we had to go to the front desk area to even get the bill! This place has a lot of potential, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Been here 4 times, and had the similar experiences.
Twice for Hibachi, twice for sushi. They simply don't seem happy to see customers or value your patronage. Absolutely beautiful ambiance though.

Its a Japanese chain so a few things are off...like the tempura vegetable appetizers are NOT gresh tempura battered but breaded frozen items that are fried.
Your hibachi salad will be drowned in dressing.
That aside...the place is very clean, service excellent, and sushi fresh.

I hate writing reviews like this. Especially in a place with such wonderful food. And I do mean, absolutely wonderful food. The place is attractive, large, unique and has a fantastic menu. The parking is ample and well lit. The bar has all sorts of scrumptious choices and the desserts, especially the green tea ice cream, are amazing.
The service, however, is atrocious. Our waitress seemed absolutely bothered by our presence and didn't offer a single refill the entire 90 minutes we were there. We were a group of five, hardly a huge or unruly dinner party. She dropped the food on the table

I will never be back to this restaurant after today's visit. I go to Sumo a lot and have spent so much there but not anymore. Our server Yeni was extremely rude and disgusting service. She only came to check in with us once and that was only when the food arrived after that never came back. We had to call her back ourselves for or else we would be waiting another 15 minutes. After we got our receipt I decided to pay in cash so I put the cash in the little book the receipt comes in and she opened it to see how much was inside right in front of us in a disrespectful manner. What a Delicious Experience, we went with my wife for dinner, we ordered sushi and hibachi, everything came in very timely manner, and it tasted very healthy even the fried rice, which is a great thing, since we both care what we eat, the stuff was very nice, place was super clean, and I think that they prices are very reasonable too.

Went for a quick dinner on Memorial Day with my sister and we shared a sushi and sashimi combo platter. It was pretty good, I especially liked the nigiri. Nicely formed and not cold like some people think it should be. The sashimi was good, it was just cut into too large of pieces for my liking, as in larger than a single bite size like I prefer.

I've been doing a bit more takeout food since COVID and was very happy with the meals. The food was good, the price isn't bad at all, and enough leftovers for another meal. The person at the front desk was friendly and helpful when I was at pick up. I'll definitely be going back to try the dine in experience.

Food & drink: I've been to Sumo several times and have never had a bad meal. The sushi is delicious and very affordable. I've had a California roll and the shrimp tempura roll. They are about $6 each and come in with ginger and wasabi on the side. If you order hibachi style, you get soup and ginger salad to start with. You also get your meat, veggies and rice. They are all delicious and plated with a beautiful edible flower. All the food is delicious! I always get the hot Sake or plum wine to go with dinner. Both are great!

This is the first time I have had hibachi style food. The food was pretty good and it was an entertaining experience. The chef did some tricks with fire and onion volcano.
All staff were wearing masks at all times and customers too when not in the dining area. We felt safe eating here and groups were spaced out around the hibachi grill. This place doesn't take reservations and it is first come, first serve. We arrived around early evening and waited about a half hour for hibachi.

We, of course, went to the Hibachi Grill. Absolutely loved the chef. He was entertaining and made our night. Food was cooked perfectly. Tasted great!
( One of our party opted for lo mein noodles rather than the fried rice. She informed me that they were a bit rubbery. )
While it was pricy, I definitely had enough to take home leftovers! Not something we would go to often (again, price). But as a special treat, I would go again.

I say the the bar to eat, and there's also a sushi bar, and then the actual finding room so the place is huge.
My friend got a chicken dish that I was going to get and I'm glad she wanted it because when I tasted hers it was all dark meat and no white meat at all. I like the white better and thought it was weird they didn't mention this in the menu. My dish was a mix of meats: scallop, shrimp, beef... and the presentation was cool but the food was just ok. Actually less than average because I ended up picking out all of the beef
