Took advantage of our situation by increasing rent and leaving us homeless for 3 weeks, took our money, probably one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with...I'm ashamed they are allowed to even exist. They don't see you as people and just try to get as much money out of you as they can. It seems as though they did everything in their power to screw us over.

Wost real estate experience ive ever had. I called them on monday to make an appointment on Friday to see houses. They said they would give us an appointment before then. Called on Wednesday, they said they would call me back, they did not. Called Thursday, no answer. Walked into their office at 1120 am on Friday to at the very least get a list of rentals to check out. They said they were too busy and had an appointment at 1pm, so they could not help. They did not even give me a list of properties to check out. On top of that they said the could not get me into a house until june first

I'm updating my review because I've recently finished my 2.5 year stay at the Cottage Realty townhouse I rented. While I want to frame this by first saying I DID clean my house like a dog before moving out, I'm happy to report that I received my entire security deposit back. I think I this is important because Humboldt County slumlords (such as those affiliated with Humboldt Property Management and Professional Property Management) are infamous for stealing people's security deposits under the guise of damages to the property.

I'm very happy with the service Cottage realty provides. I'm so thankful to have had a landlord like Francis who sends maintenance when needed and is always really nice on the phone (that's usually unheard of in Humboldt County). The house I am renting is affordable, close to HSU, and very comfortable. If you're wondering whether to rent with Cottage realty, I would totally recommend it. Really professional and really welcoming.

If at all possible stay away from this office. Rude, incompetent, violators of real estate regulations on so many levels I can't help but wonder how they are still in business. I have never encountered such appallingly incompetent and inconsiderate people! I have a real estate license and if there were people like this in the Bay Area they would have been out of business in a nanosecond Property owners, you are ultimately responsible for the actions of your representatives , I am shocked that you haven't been sued .
