Services
The Beltline Bar was opened in 1953 by George Wilkinson. Beltline Bar was a fitting name considering 28th Street was commonly referred to by Grand Rapidians as "The Beltline." When Tony Rutkowski acquired the restaurant in 1964, the establishment only seated 42 people in a single 60' x 30' room. At this time, a total of 3 employees served beer, wine, popcorn & chili dogs, which were the house specialty.
Our menu brings the best selections to the table: tex-mex food (burritos, tacos, fajitas, quesadillas & other delicious mexican food), salads, beer and drinks. Stop by our restaurant on 28th Street, Grand Rapids, MI and taste for yourself! The Black Ale is low in gravity, clean, crisp, and flavor-filled; giving off a bread-like aroma.

Good fajitas..chicken is best. Great nachos...lots of cheese. The tortillas taste fresh. The service is so friendly and very efficient. Our waitress had a great sense of humor. This place is 40 miles from our home but we still make the drive at least once a month!

We recently went to Beltline and I understand being short staffed and things taking a bit of time but I was so disappointed. All day I was thinking abut Steak Fajitas and I couldn't wait but when they came, the beans and rice were on the hot pan. Doing this made the beans runny and they ran all over the meat. It was a mess. Waitress was apologetic and took it off the bill. She also offered us a free desert but we thanked her for the offer and turned it down. So if you order fajitas make sure to tell them beans and rice in the side.

Marissa is the Best waitress ever! She's efficiently quick/fast, listens, gets everything perfect. It's almost like she can read your mind. If she doesn't have an answer, she finds out in a timely manner. If she says she'll get back to you, ..she does! In a quick minute. No waiting with Marissa on staff. She smiles and is friendly and genuinely happy.

We go to Beltline Bar for the Mexican Style tacos. These are without a doubt the best in the midwest. Pretty darn close to what I get in Southern California. Be sure to order a margarita. Glory is the best waitress we have ever had at BB.

I ordered online for delivery since I was unable to leave my home ( approx 1-2 mi away) Ordered a Taco Salad and chips/cheese/beef plus olives. Total cost $40. !!!! When asked while ordering if I waned any "additions/special instructions" I asked for Salsa and sour cream - since for some reason they are not included on the taco salad? Order arrived - very prompt, I might add, via Door Dash, but NO sides were included. Chips with cheese and meat were just dry - and taco salad was just that - bowl, lettuce ,cheese ,meat ( chicken) and a few diced tomatoes - Totally

Waiter Mike was awesome! Food came out super fast and was delicious! I got taco salad and the shell was to perfection!
I got a message from David who found me on fb to let me know I left my keys and other items there. I had no idea they fell out of my coat pocket. Great customer service!

Awful. Absolutely the worst faijta I've ever had and I eat a lot of Mexican food. I used to come here every Sunday as a child with my parents and it was amazing. Super disappointed in how bad it has become. I will never eat here again. -5 stars.

Best wet burrito in town.
Bartender was very engaging and took responsibility for exchanging my beer order. Plus, full disclosure of cost of my food order on lunch menu.
However, sitting at bar mid-afternoon to avoid dinner crowd, disturbing matter occured.
Homeless guy was allowed to sit at bar and kept nodding out and making strange comments, e.g. racial, etc.
Bartender said the guy was a former employee, so management was granting him deference on his behavior.
Would have stayed for another drink, but to avoid potentially explosive situation, I left.
Management should have removed the guy immediately

We had dinner here last week and were very impressed. Jordan took good care of us. As a Hoosier, I was surprised to see another place offering Wet Burritos. I was also skeptical since Hacienda in Evansville introduced this dish to me back in the late 90s. The wet burritos here at Beltline Bar are awesome. Very tasty and really good service as well. I will be back when in GR.

Came here for lunch on a Friday and it was decent. Definitely felt like an old school Tex-mex restaurant with the decor and food choices.

No complimentary chips and salsa which is kinda a bummer but their portions on the entrees are large so it makes up for it! I got the beltline combo which comes with a mini ground beef wet burrito, a taco, an enchilada, and beans and rice. I hear the wet burrito from beltline is famous in GR so I had to try some form of it. It was pretty good! Definitely satisfied my craving for a wet burrito. Taco was ok! The shell was freshly fried so that was a plus. Enchilada

A hopping, local watering hole, the Beltline Bar serves a lot of Tex-Mex-like cuisine. Wildly popular, packed even mid-week, this food meets the needs of the populace with a bang!
I say "Tex-Mex-like" to be clear about the flavor profile you'll find here. Unlike the offerings I've tasted across Mexico, in Austin TX, and up and down California, this is sauced more with enchilada spices (ancho chili powder, tomatos, cumin, garlic, onion, and brown sugar) then I've typically encountered. Not bad, just different.
We started through the very extensive menu while chowing down on the guacamole & chips

Always a great meal at the Beltline bar and this time was no exception. We have not been here in a while but my wife was craving their wet burrito so we decided to go. We were seated quickly and Our server was very attentive and did a great job. The food was excellent. My wife and I split the big wet burrito and it was delicious. My daughter inhaled her fish tacos. For dessert we all split the fried ice cream and it was more than enough. Highly recommend.

Have heard a lot of people rave about this place however maybe just a fluke but I wasn’t really that impressed. I ordered two steak tacos à la cart and they were $4.50 apiece which seemed very steep. Additionally you had to pay for chips and salsa . The food was good the service was decent, but again for the money I paid I do not believe I got my moneys worth.

Nice, retro looking restaurant. Very friendly waitress! Margarita was a little too sweet for me. Their famous wet burrito was impressive. It's definitely very wet thanks to all of the sauces and cheeses. More than enough for 2 people. Prices were pretty fair and we now have lots of leftovers. Overall, this famous place comes recommended!

Did not disappoint. If you've never been, I strongly recommend the Famous Wet Burrito, regular. My wife got steak tacos and our friend got Enchiladas. They both tried mine and said i had the best plate on the table. Looking back the ONLY thing I would do different is ask for fresh onions on top. But still, fantastic!!!

Beltline Bar was a staple in my house growing up, especially when family came to town. I stopped going when they told me they no longer did an off-menu item (which seemed fair) just to have a manager randomly ask how we were doing, and then explain they could definitely still do it. I told him the server assured me they could not, and our food was almost out, so he said "well, next time ask for me," as if he worked every available shift.

But my mom suggested it tonight. The phone line was busy for a bit, so we put in an order through their website.

My mom and niece went to get it,

I don't know how this place ever wins best burrito in Grand Rapids. I've had a lot of Mexican food in my life and this one is not very good. Plus you don't even get salsa on your plate and sour cream is an up charge. Wasn't my choice to go there that's for sure.

I've never left a one star review, but this place was a real disappointment. A group of us had dinner here around5:30pm. I joined the group 15 minutes later. The ladies I was joking had drinks, but many needed refills. The server repeatedly walked by the table after I had joined, but didn't greet me. After sitting for 30 minutes without anything to drink, I walked to the bar to order a glass of wine. The bartender told me he couldn't serve me if I had a table, but would let my waiter know. Another 10 minutes go by, and the bartender walks out to my table with a glass of wine. The

Opened in 1953, the Beltline is know for their Wet Burrito, which is muy deliciosa.

Also get their excellent and strong Margaritas.

This is a common meeting spot for my family and my in-laws as its fairly close off the highway and about half way. Between us and them. We usually get chips and cheese to start which is pretty fantastic. Melted cheese on chips, sorta like nachos without all the extra stuff.

We walked in and no one was in the front. Granted it was 4:00, so not a typical meal time. A few servers passed us a standing there and said nothing. Finically a guy rushed by looking frantic and told us he'd be back in a minute to seat us. Meanwhile there were quite a few servers just standing aRound at he bar!
