Services
Best known for dishing out top-tier, authentic Japanese cuisine, Restaurant Suntory has been a mainstay in the Honolulu dining scene for over 40 years. As Royal Hawaiian Center's sole original tenant, we've become beloved by locals and visitors alike for providing the beautiful backdrop of paradise while transporting the senses directly to Japan.
The quality of our ingredients and the meticulous preparation by our highly trained chefs are what take Restaurant Suntory's Japanese cuisine to the next level. To help with understanding our menu, here are some helpful vocabulary words. Teppanyaki: a style of cooking that uses a hot, flat iron griddle (called a teppan) that is widely used to cook food in front of guests.
As one of Japan's largest and oldest brewing and distilling companies, no one can whip up a drink quite like Suntory. With every glass comes the heart and soul of the craftsman, dedicated to delivering the perfect beverage time and time again whether it be a relaxing happy hour drink after a productive day, a kickstart to your long-awaited Hawaii vacation, or just the right libation to round out a delicious Japanese meal.

Their hot plate filet steak is a must have. Instead of individually ordering a course menu, best to share and have a bit of everything.
Came a 2nd time for their teppanyaki menu, but quite the disappointment. Salmon was dry, the miso was sub par, and the dipping sauces were mediocre. We had a better experience at Tokyo Tanaka across the street

Food was very good, but the teppanyaki experience makes it a 5-star experience. Chef Yuichi shared a lot of his knowledge on Japanese cuisine, and delivered an excellent performance. The service was also fabulous. From the hostess to the busboys to the chefs, everyone was great at their job. Highly recommend!

Hibachi style cooking is always an entertaining experience, not to mention freshly made food of your choice. Our meal however lacked flavor. Was a bit bland and didn’t quite enjoy it. Ended up getting some to go food from another restaurant afterwards and ate at our resort. However the location and entertainment was good and our chef was nice.

I’ve eaten here a couple times. Service and sushi chefs are top notch for the price. One visit I ordered the Hawaiian fish sashimi. Was supposed to be 3 types of fish and they used tuna for two and later told me they didn’t have any other Hawaiian fish. This is a pretty expensive dish. I would have appreciated knowing that before I ordered. I would have got something else. I don’t go to a nice place to eat common tuna. Otherwise it’s a cool place.

It's not often you find a place truly worthy of five stars. Suntory was perfect. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent setting, unbelievable prices. The salmon belly and collar was exquisite, perfectly cooked, a large portion, and ridiculously priced at 8 dollars. One of the best dining experiences I have had.

Excellent traditional Teppan service and meals.
We had the Lobster with Wagyu combination and a Lobster with Filet Mignon combination. Abolone, shrimp and scallop appetizers. Black sesame pudding with ice cream and Tempura ice cream with strawberry liquor.
Sapporo and a Midori Melondrop.
Covid complaint.

Went for lunch before the 2nd lockdown order in August twice in a week.
The first time we ordered monthly special. Each dish was freshly prepared and tasted amazingly good. 5 star there.
2nd time was Teppanyaki. No performance involved like others, but all was good. I give 4 because of the garlic rice. It looked good while being cooked but it was pretty bland. It didn’t have any flavor of garlic or the egg maybe because of overpowering amount of salt.
I am garlic rice critique...
So I’d give 4.5.
Good place to be to take care of Japanese food fix when the lockdown order is lifted.
