Owner John Herring always knew from a young age that he would work on cars and trucks. John grew up in a family of mechanics. He used to work for his uncle, so it just seemed logical that he would eventually open up his own shop.
Brought a cylinder head in for inspection, valves checked out okay. Deck facing was warped, so fixed that and the whole job was done quickly and reasonably priced. We had a car with an intermittent check engine light. We went somewhere else to read the computer code but they could not find a problem. John at Stamps was very helpful. Stamps was able to find the problem within an hour (oil leak in the engine) and gave us costs and advice on what to do about it. They could have recommended repairs, but they recommended it was not worth it and to but another car. They even inspected the car we wanted to buy as a courtesy to make sure we were not buying any new problems and gave a thorough review.

After a long 5 months of back and forth with my wife's Chevy Malibu 2012. We were really close on selling the car. Car would not start. Starter had been checked. Battery was brand new.. Electrical issues are a nightmare.. Stamps auto took care of us and her car. Replaced the whole fuse block in the Malibu and reassured us that we have a great running car.
Now my wife is back in her car. Like it was brand new..

I originally gave this place 3/5 stars after I had an issue with a service they provided. Changing it now to 5/5 as they fixed that mistake and covered costs. After using this shop for 2+ years they have been consistently fair and reliable. If they mess up they own it and I don't foot the cost.

Being new to the area, I had no idea where to go to get my antique project car's engine rebuilt. I asked around and was told to go to "Stamp's Auto". I did some research then drove on down to talk to them. I met the owner (John) and we talked about my rebuild. After discussing several different options, we came up with a plan. John and his experienced technicians are not only knowledgeable, but are extremely professional while keeping that small business courtesy touch. Jim was highly recommended to me from a friend. So, when it came time to needing advice on my car service, he was first on my mind. I had a great experience at Stamps.
