A week later and I am still craving the delicious breakfast we had! My family and I went after the breakfast rush and pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves. Our order was brought to us in a reasonable time and above all was hot, fresh and sooo Good!! The grits were cooked to perfection, the pancakes were fluffy, hot and were almost bigger than the plate! Service was excellent! I’d be a regular if I lived near by. Excellent!!

The food was delicious and well served by the server named Ana. She took great care of us and made sure what we wanted and was so knowledgeable about the price on side orders. Everything we need was nicely put together at the table. We didn’t have to keep requesting anything. I am very impressed and happy to visit this historic restaurant. I love it and would recommend this to anyone who wants a cozy place to eat with excellent service.

I’ve been going to Royal Restaurant in Old Town, Alexandria, every Saturday morning for breakfast for the past ten years. And every time I order the same thing: veggie omelet, side of bacon and a cup of coffee. The reason I keep coming back is the real sense of community at this place. The same server, Alma, has been here every time I come and she is always in tune with what’s happening in my life. This morning, a newer server, Matthew, surprised me by comping my check because he found out I was a Veteran. It’s service like this, kindness like this, and gratitude like this that keeps people

Food was delicious.
Prices were reasonable.
The only downside was that they assume we didn't speak English [just because we are latinos]Once we told them we are bilingual, our order was taken and food was delicious. Not sure what that was all about but I just hope people learn from their mistakes and not judge a person from their color of their skin. If you're in town, its a really good breakfast spot. Walking distance from the Holiday Inn hotel on First and the marina. We spent about $56 on a party of four.
