Since 1994, I've helped couples overcome painful communication blocks and bring closeness and intimacy to their most important relationship. Though my direct work with hundreds of couples, and the leadership positions I held in the California Association of Marriage and Family therapists, I have been helping couples, and individuals of all kinds build relationships that feel great.
While it can be hard to define what your course of therapy might look like as everyone has slightly different goals, needs and personalities, there are some elements in common. Every course of treatment will begin with goal setting and assessing the issues involved.

Services
Romantic relationships bring up people's deepest issues more powerfully than any other and can therefore be a place of either incredible hurt and confusion or unparalleled joy and healing, most often a bit of both. A short course of couples counseling is often all that is needed to move things in the more positive direction.

I can't remember how I found Allison but I am so glad I did. She is an excellent therapist and helped me overcome lifelong issues of shame that were holding me back from doing what I loved. It's been over a year since I last saw Alison but I still like to send her an occasional email about my success.

Alison is an amazing therapist. She is super smart yet down to earth. She has helped me so much with relationship issues. I am so grateful that I found her. I have been able to make so many positive changes in my life with her help. She is warm, caring and most importantly very wise. I highly recommend her.
