TLDR; pretty nice place, but room for improvement
I lived here for about 2 years and have minimal complaints. It was quiet, clean, and maintenance was quick to respond. Front office staff also seemed pretty patient and actually explained things to you if you had questions.
two downsides were kind of thin walls (sometimes I'd hear my upstairs neighbor blast music, but it was just instrumental and usually on the weekend so it was actually sometimes pleasant) and a couple (at least 2) incidents where my car was rummaged through, though nothing was taken (I'm one to lock my car btw). Since it happened

I’ve lived at Oakdale for the past 3 or so years and I’ve had nothing but fabulous experiences living here. On-site management has changed a couple times during my residency, but the customer service never fails to exceed expectations. Maintenance is always on time, responsive, and knowledgeable. The fact that BAM does not have breed restrictions on their pets says what it needs to say about the community here: accepting, friendly, non-judgmental, and cooperative. Location is fantastic, neighborhood is quiet and safe, and the frequent updating of the amenities is worth it. The only reason why

We have lived here over four years and have enjoyed the location, management, and prompt maintenance responses. Located on the west side and next to a bike trail that our family enjoys regularly! The new management has always been helpful with any concerns or needs and maintenance has always responded as needed. John H. and Jason have been quick and efficient as well as respectful of our space while working in the building. We highly recommend Oakdale to any locals as a quiet, easily assessable place to live in Bloomington!

We absolutely love living at Oakdale. The apartments are well taken care of, most having been recently updated on a number of fronts. The management and maintenance crew are helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to respond to issues.
We feel safe letting our children play outside with others in the neighborhood and it’s a great place to walk our dog. Plus, the place is right next to the Waipahani mountain bike trails, which makes for great outdoor space.

My husband and I just recently moved out of state and prior to that we lived at Oakdale for a year. The ladies at the office were always super sweet and the maintenance was always done in a timely matter. The apartments themselves were beautifully remodeled and we really loved the “hardwood” floors on the whole bottom level. The upstairs bedrooms didn’t have lights which I hated at first but it’s an easy fix with a lamp which can be controlled by a light switch or you can buy a clap on clap off adapter (which is what we used). The neighborhood was always quiet and when it snowed the staff
