EDS is proud to be a locally-owned and family-operated business for 33 years. In 1985, Erin Bramlett started Educational Development Services, Inc., to assist students on a one-to-one basis so they could grow and thrive throughout their educational journey. She believed in Preparing for Success and poured that into her students.
In 2001, daughter, Nancy Barnard took over EDS after practicing engineering for 2 and law for 15 years. In 2006, Erin regretfully passed away. For over 15 years, Nancy proudly carries on her mother's legacy to the Jacksonville community, providing success for one child at a time. Nancy's philosophy is Reaching New Heights.

Services
EDS specializes in interventions for children and adults with dyslexia using Orton Gillingham methods of intervention. Reading intervention strategies must be research-based, explicit, intensive and repetitive. An evaluation by an educational psychologist is preferred. However, if there is no prior assessment, EDS will assess to determine area of deficiency in reading whether phonemic awareness, accuracy, rate of comprehension.
EDS has a successful history of working with students based on their strengths and weaknesses. EDS strategies are repeatedly proven to improve scores. EDS analyzes test results to devise a plan that best suits the students. Is the student visual or auditory? The design of group sessions meets the needs of all learners.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Just got off the phone with the owner and I never have I been so insulted. You are expected to shell out $75 an hour for a weekly session or more if they deem it necessary but don't ask any questions about the process or the methods used. After 10 minutes on the phone of calling ME, she tells me that she has to get off the phone and that I am only to call back when I am ready for tutoring. Mind you, it is her schedule that is full. So glad that I found out her attitude prior to giving her my business.

We were very impressed with EDS! Our son completed an SAT review course through a larger organization and did well on his SAT but we wanted to see if he could improve his score a little more. EDS was recommended to us and after only a few tutoring sessions, our son retook the SAT and greatly improved his score. We really liked the one on one tutoring that was specific to my son's needs.
