Counseling and therapy can be a life-changing experience. It can free you from depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, and many things that rob life of joy and meaning. Counselling is not for the faint of heart. It takes strength and courage. I help people who struggle with depression, anxiety, work issues, family/couples conflict, low self-esteem, and anger.
Psychotherapy can be one of the greatest gifts you'll ever give yourself. Why do I call it a "gift"? Because it can absolutely change your life for the better in ways that are sometimes hard to imagine. Relationships go through many phases during the course of life, and it is obvious that there will be rough patches.

My approach to counseling is sometimes referred to as "insight-oriented therapy" or "psychodynamic psychotherapy." Put simply, I believe that we all have old patterns and responses that have developed over the course of our lives. Often, we are not aware of how, when or where these patterns and responses began.
Individual counseling (sometimes called "psychotherapy") can be one of the greatest gifts you'll ever give yourself. Why do I call it a "gift"? Because it can absolutely change your life for the better in ways that are sometimes hard to imagine. When we meet together for counseling, we form a therapeutic relationship.
Relationships go through many phases during the course of life, and it's obvious that there will be rough patches. The strength of a relationship is reflected in how a couple deals with inevitable difficulties. These days, in our fast-food, drive-through society, marriage is sometimes seen as expendable.
Working with teenagers and pre-teens is one of the greatest parts of my job. No matter what difficulties a teenager may be experiencing, there is always a unique outlook and a certain resiliency that shines through when they come to counseling. Adolescents need to feel comfortable with a therapist before they are ready to share their deepest feelings.
In our first session, I'll get to know you by gathering some information about your life, such as your job, school, relationships, and family history. I'll want to know what has led you to counseling. In other words, what is happening in your life that is causing distress or difficulty?
By the end of our first session, I should be able to give you some of my insights into the problems that you're facing, and some thoughts on how we can work together to make your life better. The length of time spent in therapy is an individual decision, and it varies greatly from person to person. Some people come to see me for a few weeks.

I've been procrastinating on doing therapy for years, then I finally decided to see Mr. Moorehead. And wow, everything that's been building up since a young child was let go in one session and I feel as close to my family as I've ever been. I'm thankful for you and the service that you do. Thank you so much.
