My specialty is providing counseling support to men, women, and couples who are seeking a richer, fuller life. My clients are of all types of personalities, of many ethnic backgrounds, straight and gay, religious and non-religious. While rich in their diversity, they share a willingness to risk new ways of thinking, relating, and living-all qualities for successful therapy.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that human beings have the intrinsic capacity to move toward health and fulfillment. If we find ourselves stuck in patterns that run contrary to our deeper desires and aspirations, it's not because we want to be miserable or are in some way a "bad" person. We simply lack the emotional support to find our way out.

Services
People seek therapy for different reasons. Some just want a professional to help as they work through a particular situation. Others want help in working through a long-standing struggle or problem. Increasingly, men and women are discovering that therapy adds value to their work, relationships, and overall quality of life.
Alfred Adler (Adlerian Psychology) and Heinz Kohut (Psychology of the Self) are the two primary influences that inform my approach to psychotherapy. In Adler we find the affirmation of every person's inherent will to achieve fulfillment. While the obstacles to such achievement may be significant, one is never beyond the help that can come from proper encouragement.
Healthy relationships contribute significantly to a person's health and well-being. But many struggle to experience the kind of connection they long for. Some come to therapy to figure out what to do about a troubled relationship. Others come to understand why they have difficultly staying in a relationship.
My office is located at 4256 N. Ravenswood Ave., Suite 310, which is in the Ravenswood neighborhood on Chicago's north side. I am one block south of Montrose on the south-bound (one-way) Ravenswood Street. If you are driving, free parking is available within steps from the building entrance. By train, I am one block from the Montrose Brown Line stop and a few blocks from the Metra Ravenswood stop.

My husband and I saw George before we were married. We visited several times as a couple as well as individually. This was our first experience in a therapeutic setting and we didn't know what to expect but George was great! He put us at ease and helped us improve our communication tremendously. We left every session feeling better than we did upon arrival. If you are looking for a therapist but don't know where to start, I would highly recommend visiting George. He was also really great about helping us understand the complex billing structure.

My husband and I have seen George for almost 1 year now, first for couples therapy then transitioned into individual therapy. He has a very comfortable office and is extremely easy to talk to. He's patient, thoughtful and well-versed in psychology methodology and theory. He sympathizes with you when you're down, as well as shares in your joys. My husband and I try to see him weekly and it's well worth the expense! Parking (both paid and free) is typically not a problem near his office building on Clark. He accepts insurance and credit cards, which is definitely a plus! George has
