Moti Mahal
Moti Mahal, authentic indian cuisine in Kansas City, is a pleasant surprise in a town where indian ethnic cuisine are available in wide varieties. Moti Mahal offers a wide variety of tasty, tangy dishes of India. The meals are well prepared, and the chef is very accommodating in ensuring just the right spice level for your palate.

The restaurant offers several tandoori dishes and a wonderfully tangy lamb vindaloo. Specializing in gourmet Indian food. Dishes are made to order based on how spicy or mild you prefer your food. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian, kid's menu and takeout available. They use only fresh, healthy ingredients and do not use MSG.

Best Indian food in the Northland. It's my carryout spot, and even though the parking lot is full of pot holes and not at all conducive to the flow of traffic, it's well worth the Charlie Foxtrot in order to bring home that tasty food. But seriously, the parking lot is the only negative thing I can say about Moti.

If you're looking for Indian food, then you should give this place a try. They have a large variety of options and the portions are very large. The buffet has a variety of Indian cuisine. If you aren't sure what to order off of their menu I would suggest trying the Buffet.

At Moti Mahal their Covid protocols are top-notch and call-in and carry-out orders are made correctly and fresh.

If there's one Asian cuisine Kansas City does decently well, it is Indian food. I was not disappointed by the huge portions at Moti Mahal. I got myself a lamb biriyani and the Moti Mahal platter. I wasn't a big fan of the platter per se because some items were pretty dry. However, I really liked how big the lamb biriyani dish was. It didn't taste the way I expected it to but it still had good flavor. One thing is that I just wished they gave more yogurt on the side.

I also got this as a delivery order, so I would assume the food would taste a lot better if I sat down and ate it

Really great Indian food! My favorite place changed ownership and their food is terrible now, so I've been looking for something good for a while now. It was very refreshing to find something this tasty place. The curries were absolutely beautiful and silky smooth. My Indian food craving is finally satisfied.

This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Kansas City. We love their lunch buffet that they had before COVID, the value could not be beat. We have been waiting for the buffet to return, but I'm not sure how soon that's going to be.

The food is great. I give it 4 out of five because the to go side of there buisness really takes away from the dining experience. People are always coming in and out and we waited close to 35 to 40 minutes for our dishes. With 3 other parties seated before us. The butter chicken was great...and the chicken vindaloo was very spicey as asked for and my boy loved the byriaani. And it looks as though the buffet will be out for a while.

Excellent Indian food. Butter Chicken was smooth and delicious, maybe a touch mild, but I ordered it "medium". Next time I'm going in "hot." Garlic Naan is a must along with a cold beer. All around great.

Went there with co-workers. I am very picky about Indian food, so I was unsure on this place. The food blew my mind! Extremely delicious! I highly recommend and I will be back!

I LOVE this place. I have never dined in only because COVID happened before my wife and I found this gem. We have ordered from them over and over.
The food portions are always more than enough. The consistency of the cooking and flavors are the same every time we have ordered from them. The staff are always friendly. I am down for eating food from Moti Mahal any day.

This is without question the most delicious Indian food I have ever eaten. The veg samosa dough was buttery, light, not at all greasy, and the filling wasn't runny. The vegetarian korma is like velvet, and the lamb biryani beautifully spiced. The naan is so fresh, pillowy soft dough with great char. The food is an exceptional value as well, very generous portions. I don't live in this area but if you do, or you're staying around the airport in KC, this is a must-do!

Horrible and disgusting. The chicken, shrimp and fish was all dried out. Shrimp was rubbery and chewy. No lunch menu.

We have always had a great experience at Moti Mahal. The staff is super friendly, the space is clean, and the food is one of our first choice go-to restaurants. Their tandoori chicken is, in my opinion, the best I've had. During COVID we made sure to get take out from a couple of places that we wanted to make sure didn't go under and this was definitely one of them.

Indian food is obviously very hard to come by here in Kansas City and even harder to come across good Indian food. There's really nothing like the true ethnic stuff from India itself, but seeing as that's a bit far away for most people here, Moti Mahal is good enough. However, by good enough, I mean really very well done. Kansas City has had a couple Indian food places around over the years, but Moti Mahal is the best, in my opinion. I've never personally been the restaurant, but I can vouch for the food there, and let's be honest with ourselves, does it really matter what the

The restaurant is only open for carry out due to the pandemic. They take call in orders or you can order online. They have an extensive menu and we have ordered many menu items over the past year. All were fresh, hot and delicious. Tonight we ordered the butter chicken, tandoori chicken, a couple of different relishes and papadam. Both chicken dishes were excellent. The chicken was all white meat, perfectly moist and the sauce was very tasty. The butter chicken is more of a comfort food, but I order it spicy. If you like spicy food, I recommend it. My wife makes her own "Indian nachos

This is the first and so far only Indian restaurant I've tried. I always thought I wouldn't like Indian food but one day I just felt like I had to try something different. I just couldn't eat the same ol' thing. So, I tried Butter chicken, veggie pakora and roti. It was delicious! It was served with a very green mint cilantro sauce which I expected to hate because of the cilantro but I couldn't have been more wrong. It was the absolute perfect compliment to the pakoras. This place converted me! Now I can't wait to try the other dishes.

I like this buffet so much better than zona Rosa place. Not a lot of items but everything is tasty. Goat curry, Nan and chi teas is my favorite. A little picky for my lunch budget but I enjoyed it every time and ate way too much.

Moti Mahal isn't as fancy as Swagat across the street in Zona Rosa, but they hold their own when it comes to food.

I was there for dinner with a Meetup group of about 15 gals, so this may be the first time I've ever eaten Indian food off a menu rather than the buffet. I got a vegetarian korma, "medium spicy," which caught me be surprise with the first bite, but after I acclimated a bit, it was delicious, as was the mint nan. A few of the girls were unfamiliar with Indian food, but they were all fans at the end of the meal.

The staff are wonderful, and somehow they kept all

Scratch one more place off the bucket list! Add one more cuisine to the experience list. Tonight, for the first time I tried Indian cuisine. I’ve driven by this place since it opened countless times, but I never stopped. Tonight, I stopped. I’m talking about Moti Mahal on Barry Rd. by I-29.
I know nothing about Indian cuisine. Tonight, I found out how delicious it is. Looking over the menu I find a section named Ghost. Oh, great, they serve haunted food! But in fact, Ghost, is Lamb. When someone mentions lamb, I get weak at the knees and start to purr! They offer lamb in five different dishes

The food didn’t taste good at all, sadly this place doesn’t meet my standards as a big fan of Indian restaurants. As you see in the pictures the three sauces are in one plate. The food portions were large, but the taste was bad .
I recommend the restaurant to re-understand how to serve sauces in multiple containers, act like you care about customers, and fix your spices mix. I don’t want to taste a high concentration of tomatoes in my dish!

The food here is pretty decent but it didn't taste very fresh at the end of the night. I had flown in to KC later in the evening and was starving. I got in probably an hour before close and proceeded to order an array of things. Some of the descriptions on the menu did not match what came out. A lot of the dishes say they are served in traditional clay pots as a stew but when they arrived at the table they were in open dishes and not very hot. I felt rushed out at the end even though it was not closing time. The staff had literally grabbed their jackets and belongings and were just standing

In a younger version of myself, I thought I hated Indian food. It all harkens back to an incident in Norman, Oklahoma when I let someone order for me off the menu and I was stuck with a plate of peas and cauliflower and everlasting nightmares. Just recently I reluctantly joined friends at an Indian buffet and wow - I realized that I have been missing out on some amazing foods. My evening at Moti Mahal made me a firm believer that the food of the sub-continent is on par with any worldly cuisine, in fact it has probably started a new culinary obsession, similar to the sushi addiction I was on for

Stopped in when we were in Kansas City chasing the sun. It was very late when we got there and they were closing at 9pm. By the way, they close at 9pm not 930pm as yelp indicated.

The window panes were all covered up so we could see if there were other patrons in it but tried anyway. Glad we did.

Lighting is a tad dim but when we saw the staff, we commented that this is an authentic Indian restaurant so food will be good. True enough.

I specifically commented to the wait person that I like it flavorful and spicy (not heat wise but from the Indian spices) and they delivered.

They started
