Vaccines should be started at 6 to 8 weeks of age. We need to booster DA2PP vaccines every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 to 18 weeks of age. Leptospirosis vaccine must be given twice, about 3-4 weeks apart, then is given yearly after that. Rabies and Bordetella vaccines both last 1 year when given during puppyhood.

Very kind, knowledgable, and caring. They don't put your pets through unnecessary tests for profit. Prices are very affordable. It takes a while for them to see your pet after you check in, but I imagine they're busy. It's worth it anyway since the vets are knowledgeable and patient with questions you may have about your pet. My pets never seem scared or worse off after the appointment, which I've experienced at other vet offices. Definitely recommend!

After using bluebonnet on several occasions I have come to the opinion that I cannot recommend this clinic. I feel like we just spend money here and there is no real care given. To prescribe antibiotics it was worse than getting antibiotics from a human doctor they want swabs and urine samples. Human doctors throw antibiotics at us like it’s candy but I can’t get my vet to give me any for my 13 year old dog. There are good doctors there but I personally feel like they are out for money over treating dogs. Yes my dog is 13 and we should be cautious but it’s like this with any type of care

I want to say thank you SO MUCH to everyone working here. I have a 10 year old cat with FIV who had a lot of issues and needed wound repair and antibiotics. I had called as soon as they opened in tears because I love my cat so much and I was terrified of what could happen for her. They were completely booked and they still allowed me to bring her in and have her checked out. I am so eternally grateful to them, they were so kind and answered all my questions and will be continuing follow-ups there and any other visits I may need with her and my other cat. Thank you to the entire staff for being

I visited Bluebonnet for the first time earlier today with my dog Ruby. She had suffered an eye injury. I dealt mostly with a vet tech named Zac, as he is the one who was back and forth to my car. The clinic was undergoing remodeling, so I was unable to go in. Zac was incredibly kind, caring, informative and patient. He definitely deserved to be recognized in this review.

My cat ate the petals off of a Lily of the Incas flower overnight. Naturally I panicked, given how toxic lilies are to cats. I called Bluebonnet Animal Hospital due to their proximity. Brynn answered the phone. Even though my cat is not a patient there, she was very patient and offered me assistance (and talked me down) by directing me to the ASPCA's poison control line. The ASPCA was able to help me identify the plant and monitor my cat's symptoms, but I was too panicked to have gotten there without Brynn. My cat is just fine, and I will definitely be making future vet appointments at Bluebonnet

AVOID THIS VET AT ALL COSTS. We chose this vet when we got our boxer puppy and took her in for a checkup at 6 weeks old. The vet found a heart murmur on her and delivered the information to us with ZERO bedside manner. She misinformed us on the condition and made us feel hopeless, as if our puppy was going to die within a few months. Unfortunately, we had already paid for her shots package ahead of time (that's how they get you) and couldn't take her to our new vet for her shots. Our puppy received the first round, then weeks later went in for the second round, only to be told they were

I really liked bringing my dog here whenever he needed a check-up, medical care, or boarding. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and I would definitely recommend them. I do suggest, though, that you check how much your pet's prescriptions should cost elsewhere compared to what they will charge you. They charged me over $400 for a year's worth of flea/tick/heartworm meds when I can find them for about $220 several other places. I unfortunately didn't know that disparity, so please do your research!

I'm horrified . This office is extremely unprofessional . I spoke to Trinity about a billing issue that was a mistake on their part . She was extremely apologetic and took full accountability, until it was time to fix the issue . She refused to work with me at all and threaten to report me to the credit bureau . I was forced to find a other vet on such short notice . She was not only extremely rude but also provided false information on multiple occasions .

I made a payment t when I took my dog to the vet . They called to state that there was an error and on their end with the credit card machine . I told them I would not pay over the phone and a bill needed to be sent . When I went back I found out that they instead forwarded my account to the credit reporting bureau. When I called back they were extremely apologetic. When I ask them to rectify the situation they sent an email filled with lies when I called the manager she lied to me about EVERY SINGLE TRANSACTION WE HAD DISCUSSED . I have never been reported to the credit bureau in my whole life

I have been coming here for the last year with my puppy. Everything has been great up until it was time for him to get neutered. I was quoted 2 weeks ahead of time and was ready for the procedure, I dropped of my dog and all was good to go. I get a call from the doctor 10 MINUTES before they start surgery (already under anesthetic etc.) "we can do the ablation for another $400. It means we remove the sack completely" ISNT that why I am here paying you almost $700 already!?! Some of us are not made of money. They cut my dog vasectomy style and ended up getting hematoma and a massive

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND LET DOWN
Apparently writing a negative review of services is considered a 'threat' from Bluebonnet Animal Hospital.
I recently moved to Austin and reviewing local vets that were convenient to my Austin address I found Bluebonnet Animal Hospital on S Lamar.
Overall I have been pleased with services made by appointments. I have two dogs (both rescued) that are up in years. Bluebonnet recommended annual bloodwork tests which I had run. When I had additional health concerns, they would recommend added services and or biopsies with which I followed through. These

So happy to have found the perfect vet hospital for our dog, who is like our child to us. The service has been excellent every time we have to take him! Hardly any waiting time before being seen and such a friendly staff! Will definitely always take our pup here!

We have been taking our dogs to Bluebonnet Animal Hospital for years. The veterinarians are caring and knowledgable and take a thoughtful approach to treatment to help curb costs and rule out issues. The techs and office staff are super friendly and helpful. We've had several occasions that weren't quite emergencies but were urgent and they are always able to accommodate us. They are great about following up after appointments to check in on how the pups are doing after their visit. I feel like the prices are reasonable and not outrageous, especially for the level of service. We're grateful to

This is the best veterinary office we have ever been to! We just moved to Austin from LA and after calling around to multiple vets for our dog who was having some issues at home we decided to go here. Our dog is a rescue and gets very scared and aggressive at the vet so taking him in is a stressful event for us all. From the very beginning Bluebonnet was extremely accommodating and patient to make him comfortable.
We have seen both Dr. Vela and Dr. S and they are both amazing and so thorough, we have never had a vet spend so much time with us making sure to explain everything and answer all of

Breath of fresh air!!
Super helpful and quick! They were pleasant and explained every vaccination and medication process thoroughly to me prior to administering it. It’s great going to a vet clinic where they seem to care about the pets more than over charging you for things your buddy doesn’t need. They are great at giving information to owners for past and future concerns. I don’t think I’ll be going to any other place in Austin.

The Bluebonnet team is doing a fantastic job during COVID-19. Their process for patient visits during COVID has greatly improved since my previous visit back in March so I wanted to give them some well deserved kudos! The techs and front desk staff are friendly, patient and always answer all of my questions. My dog can also be a hand full because she doesn't like going to the vet.
For this past visit, my pup was in and out within 45 minutes for her annual exam and heartworm test - all done while I waited in the car. The techs also clipped her nails for me at a last minute request. Great work
