Westgate Pet & Bird was founded in 1986 by Dr Harry A Miller III, in the interest of providing care for many species that were not served by traditional veterinary medicine at that time.

Everyone was sooo nice and dr Villalva who took care of my ferret was amazing she explained everything clearly, did not rush me on the phone and answered all my questions. I love this clinic and trust them 100% with my fur babies. Tonya I think her name was? The vet tech She was amazing as well and felt like family!!!

I love this clinic so much! I’ve never had to wait longer than 5 minutes after checking in for my buns appointment. The vets are so kind and NEVER rush you out. I also like that they will give you an estimate before doing anything aside from the exam. Some vet clinics I’ve been to won’t explain anything that you’re paying for and then slap you with the huge bill. It’s just nice to know that Westgate doesn’t try to take advantage of you. I would 10/10 recommend this clinic!

I’ve tried other vets for my lizards but Westgate has been superior in every way. Staff is very kind and friendly, the technicians are awesome, vets know what they’re doing and do it well, and I’ve never left there thinking I spent too much money for less than adequate care like with some other vets. Prices also don’t seem to be ridiculously high, at least in my experience. I trust them with my leopard gecko, semi-disabled bearded dragon & Texas alligator lizard. :) 10/10 would recommend if you need a good reptile vet. My only complaint is that it’s a bit of a drive as I live in Leander

Added post 11/5/21 - Our sweet doggie just had some major dental work done by Dr Lusk and his wonderful staff, and they are always so loving and kind. They always take really good care of our pets and us.
I have been bringing our fur babies to see Dr. Lusk at Westgate Pet and Bird since 2004 and I can’t sing enough praise to how wonderful they are! The staff is caring and don’t get me started on how gentle and kind Dr. Lusk is with the animals. He was so warm and compassionate when we lost our 17 year old cat Tyra this past January. We felt that they all took very good care of her and us as

Everyone at Westgate Pet & Bird is so friendly and helpful! They take wonderful care of my two dogs. One of the dogs needed a major surgery for a lame leg and it turned out better than I expected. She's back to running and the leg that was operated on is now her stronger leg.
Dr. Brandt and the entire staff are very knowledgeable. Dr. Brandt takes the time to explain things clearly and provide options when a decision needs to be made, which I greatly appreciate.
I also appreciate that it's easy to get through to someone when an appointment needs to be made.

The staff was so kind and inviting. The doctor, Dr. Lusk, was super nice and explained everything he was doing to check my parrot. He also was very informative and gave me some pointers as a first time bird owner. The techs were super nice and patient as well. I was there for almost 2 hours and it didn’t feel like I was just sitting around waiting. They let me know everything they were doing as they were doing it. I will definitely be bringing my bird back here!

Went in with my dog and was very impressed with all of employees Dr. Doll had been taking care of my dog for over a year and I had never met her. She was really on top of things and took very good care of us. Several of the techs stopped in just to tell my dog hello. Seems he had made some friends in this past year.
