Since 2016, Southern Kitchen and Bar is the local hangout on Jacksonville Beach. The venue offers a little bit of everything from event space, live music, karaoke, happy hour, romantic dinners, weekend brunch, and just a place to watch the ocean and have a cocktail. The decor is modern and comfortable, and the space has room for up to 400 guests.

I had dinner upstairs in the dining room last night with my boyfriend and friends.The food was excellent, the service was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. This is not the first time I have eaten here. They also have a lovely patio that is very enjoyable on a warm sunny day. It is worth the trip, anytime. I highly recommend this place.

This place is ahhhmazing!! The bartenders make the best drinks (especially the old fashioned), the wait staff is quick and friendly and whoever cooks the food knows what they're doing!! I had the Atlantic salmon last night and I swear it was the best salmon I've ever had! So juicy and flavorful. My better half got the brisket mac n cheese and it was delicious as well. We sat on the patio facing the ocean and watched the fireworks. They had the greatest reggae playlist pumping through the giant speaker, beautiful glass orb tree and just absolutely amazing vibes. Place is clean and well run. Huge

I wanted to celebrate my birthday at a restaurant that I never ate at before. Did some searching and decided to eat at Southern Kitchen. I specifically mention that I was reserving for a birthday celebration. Now normally, you let restaurants know you are celebrating something they reserve a table and decorate it and after you have finished your meal, they gave you a free dessert in honor of the celebration. I didn’t get specially reserved table, I didn’t get a decorated table or even a free dessert. But I did enjoy myself. The music selection wasn’t my cup of tea, but the vibe was real chill

So my girlfriend and I decided to go here for an early dinner after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures of the food. Let’s just say this place is nowhere near a 4.8 star restaurant. Maybe at one point they were great judging from the pictures of the food they USED to have. So these reviews were deceiving AF.

This meal was terrible. First of all, super slow service. Had to wait way too long for my order to be taken and when the server comes over she tells me it was because they had no silverware. Um what? Makes no sense. Them my food came out and it was just downhill at that point. The chicken wasnt cooked long enough, not undercooked, but just not cooked long enough. Chicken inside was super wet from lack of cook time. On top of that, it was incredibly salty. Like loaded with salt on both the chicken and in the beans of the rice, which looked old and congealed. Not sure how this place has 4 stars.

Attended the Seachasers White Party which was held in a part of this restaurant, on Jacksonville beach. On the patio there was live music and people dancing and enjoying the vibes at sunset, which is part of the restaurant’s usual Sunday evening vibe on the beach. The crowd consisted of a good mix of both young and old and everyone was having a great time. The food was very good and should you visit, make sure you get the red beans & rice.

You can’t beat the location because the outside views are great of the ocean. Started with the lamb meatballs which were overcooked, but still pretty good (really enjoyed the dipping sauce). The star was the Brisket Mac n Cheese. It was a large portion, tasty and chessy. More breadcrumbs on top would have made it even better. The service was good and the happy hour drink prices are very reasonable.
