Riva Naperville

I never knew this place existed until Naperville's Restaurant Week. We had a late night steak dinner and a great experience - amazing host/manager, incredible server, delicious food. Beet salad was my favorite - perfectly dressed. And even the pile of roasted garlic and warm bread was appreciated for a cold, late dinner accompaniment.

Great dining experience and date spot. All the Greek specialties sounded great, but i’m glad I chose the BBQ Ribs with coca-cola bbq sauce. Delicious!! Dined a second time and wow, the lamb sliders are out of this world good. The tzatziki is amazing.

Sadly, I wish I could rate this higher, but we were incredibly underwhelmed.

The service was good - no complaints there.

It's just the food didn't have that WOW factor. Nothing notably memorable. In fact, I left disappointed at the amount of money we spent because I know I could have gotten that wow meal elsewhere for what we spent.

My family went here for my nephew's 14th birthday (he loves their BBQ ribs) and we had such a wonderful time. Service was so attentive and helpful and the food was absolutely incredible. The fresh bread, roasted garlic and Mediterranean salad were simple, but tasted so amazing, and the braised beef short rib was tender and delicious. One of the best meals I have ever had :)

The visit here was impeccable! Our drinks were on point. Had a dirty gin martini and the Carmel apple martini. Our filets were cooked with perfection and sides were so tasty. Daniella is an amazing bartender and server here. Everything is perfect. The tables are all set up and stunning.

Not a good experience for me on my birthday. although it was the thought that counts my daughter gifted me dinner here. I had the Caesar chicken salad which tasted like overnight Tysons pre-cooked chicken . The lettuce tasted like it was based in salmon. My mouth tasted like it had oil in it. My daughter had the New York steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli which she enjoyed. my dad had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and French green beans. Live jazz music & fabulous cocktails - the perfect start to a great meal. If you like garlic, they serve their fresh baked bread basket with roasted garlic cloves in an olive oil parmesan spread. Mmmmm. For my main course, I had the pesto Salmon. I usually don't like sauce or toppings on my fish, but this was terrific with the perfect amount of accent without overpowering the fish. For dessert, the bourbon bread pudding was just the right size to share and fight over every last bite. The dining room has gorgeous windows on one wall but unfortunately the drapes were closed. I had the lamb racks which was cooked to perfection and the spacing and ambience is extremely nice allows you to get closer and enjoy great food superb service and conversation along with dinner in a very romantic setting. Loved the experience 😊

My twin sister and I celebrated our birthday and our server Miguel was nothing short of amazing. He was there before we even needed to look for him. He was 110% attentive to our every need. There aren't many wait staff who have wooed me, but Miguel was extraordinary top of the line. If you aren't seated in his section request him. Oh and the food and drinks were very good. We always love coming here! Had an excellent meal in the bar tonight, started with Buffalo cauliflower bites with gorgonzola cream dipping sauce, followed by lamb sliders and beef tenderloin medallions with wild mushrooms and marsala reduction over horseradish potatoes. Oh my gosh...my husband and I were looking for something in the area to have dinner after an evening at TopGolf. We found CityGate Grille on OpenTable and made reservations for Saturday night. After reading some of the reviews we were excited for a nice dinner. Somebody recommended the dragonfly cocktail, HIGHLY recommend it if you are a fan of honey like my husband is. Absolutely fabulous experience! The steak was incredible, the bread was almost better! Cocktails were on point. Highly recommend the dragonfly as it comes with actual honey comb. The tomohawk for two they have going on can’t be beat. Renee was stellar as well.

If I could give less that 1 star I would. This company discriminates against disabled people. Would not recommend at all. Manager didn't care one bit when reported.

The tomahawk steak was a bit too rare for a medium request. The red wine reduction was slightly too rich for our taste. Brussel sprouts - great Service was outstanding. Overall quality of this place is impressive. Great place for a date night. Pricey. Expect close to $200 for two with main meal, wine, dessert, coffee and tip. $230+ if you add appetizers.

Took my 3 kids here (ages 14 and 2-11 year olds) picky eaters and they LOVED the housemade Mac and cheese! Steaks were amazing, my rare steak was amazing! So tasteful and melts in your mouth. Everything was absolutely wonderful! Will come again and again!

Wow! Just spent a small fortune on take out. I ordered a rib eye steak sandwich with grilled onions. Instead I got grilled specks of meat, tons of grilled onions, soggy bread and cold fries. Not even was the pumpkin bread pudding good. It didn't taste fresh at all. Yuck! My money is good anywhere. That's what I got for giving them a chance. My dinner was ruined.

Well as of 10/30/2020 this restaurant offers dining under a heated tent. I personally needed the heat cranked up but we were ok. We ordered two appetizers, lamb sliders and calamari. The calamari was good with a bang bang sauce as were the lamb sliders with a taziki sauce. Are main meals consisted of a 14 oz ribeye, meatloaf, roasted chicken, and seafood champagne capellini. The capellini was delicious, shrimp, crab meat, scallops, sundries tomato and basil in a champagne cream sauce . Better prices than your standard steak & seafood style restaurants with no sacrifice in quality. Cozy bar area, cocktails made very well. You won't be disappointed.

Went for a birthday dinner. It was a cold wet night for June so I gave our server extra credit for having to deal with the elements when all you have is patio dining. Food was good although my medium rare steak came out closer to medium well and the server gave my wife asparagus instead of the carrots she ordered. But neither dampened our night.

Desserts were good, but I'd skip ordering the black berry "mouse".
