Services
The Center for Community Counseling is a nonprofit mental health center committed to providing low-cost counseling to adults with limited incomes. We have been an essential community resource in helping Lane County be well for over 38 years. We offer individual counseling, support groups, workshops and classes all on a low sliding scale basis.
The Center for Community Counseling's mission is Transforming Lives and Healing Relationships. We make therapy accessible and affordable for those who have no others means of getting support. We believe the "ripple effect" of one person making changes in his/her life is tremendous. The positive impact this can have on partners, spouses, children, friends, family and our community as a whole is immense!
As a lay reader at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Moursund was expected to have a "mission, " or project to help the community. Moursund completed her doctorate in school psychology, so it seemed natural that she volunteer to spend one afternoon a week offering counseling for free. From this simple idea, came Aslan Counseling Center.
Debbie comes to the Center for Community Counseling with over 30 years' experience working in nonprofits with a focus on serving vulnerable populations. Debbie started with the Armed Services YMCA in Boston working with both military personnel and community members. Over the years she worked at several different YMCA's across the country including Atlanta, Seattle and New Hampshire.
The Center for Community Counseling has been making therapy accessible and affordable since 1978!. Counseling can help with relationships, depression, mood swings, anxiety and a variety of other concerns and challenges. Counseling can increase your satisfaction and enrich your life. It can be a source of support, encouragement and guidance.

I have heard nothing but amazing things about this organization and have mutiple friends who credit CCC with helping them to become more balanced and in control of their emotions. I look forward to taking a group class here in the near future. We are so lucky to have sliding scale community counseling in our town!

All they have here is young women, all college student interns. They don’t know anything but how to get you to talk and charge you for it (very cheap, you get what you pay for). Coincidentally they’re all attractive (I’ve literally been explained this by the director), so if you’re a man looking for help, probably just don’t bother.

I have been receiving counseling services at Center for Community Counseling for the past year. When I arrive for my counseling appointment, I am always welcomed by courteous and friendly staff members who offer me something to drink while I wait for my therapist. I am most impressed by how friendly the staff members are to each other and their clients. The atmosphere feels warm and inviting and has always been a positive experience for me.
I have worked with the same therapist for awhile now and she has helped me work through a very difficult time in my life. I am confident in her abilities as

Amazing agency! I love that this organization exists to help meet the mental health needs of low-income folks in our community. With exceptional counseling skills from all of the interns and volunteers, it's such a vital service to have in Lane County! If you need some counseling and fear the cost or feel you can't afford it, give them a call! You won't be sorry!

Had a very unwelcoming experience yesterday...my appt was at 4pm, as usual I'm always early so I was there a little after 330, the door was locked so I knocked and a lady opened the door and immediately asked if I had an appt, I said yes at 4 with Josh (whom she said wasnt there yet) she said I was early and sorta shuffled me away from the door (made me feel like i wasnt welcome or able to wait in the lobby, so I walked across the street to get the money to pay for my appt, when I returned the door said closed, so i waited outside to see if Josh showed up...i didnt see anyone arrive.
