I used them about 20 yrs ago. We recently got a tiny Havapoo (2 lbs) and have used them again. So far, of the 3 different veternarians we have seen two were great & one we did not like.at all. To get around using one, is easy peezy. Tell front desk you do not want appointment with a particular veterinarian. The one do not recommend pulled hair out of my tiny girl's ear. Also, gave medication for a much larger dog. Love our baby girl.

Dr Ben Tharp was a wonderful person and an excellent vet. He cared for our pets for 36 years and later cared for my daughter’s Boston Terrier,
Milee, who sadly passed away in 2019 at the age of 13. Dr Tharp was With my daughter when she brought her beloved Milee Into the clinic all by herself that last day. He was so compassionate and such a comfort for her.
Dr. Tharp Was not only an exceptional human being, but also a faithful Christian. He is greatly missed by so many !

My dog, Bailey, had 3 mammary carcinomas removed four years ago by a vet out in Cypress and the whole experience was horrible. It was so bad that it traumatized her and she hasn’t been good at the vet ever since then. Recently, I felt another lump on her and took her in to see Dr. Hayes because my mom has always told me about her experience at Voss Road and how amazing the staff and doctors are. I can’t even begin to tell you what a wonderful experience it has been. Dr. Hayes took extra time talking to Bailey and winning her trust and even took a few extra steps to make her surgery more comfortable

I have been taking Nermal here from day one, and they are always very helpful with everything. They know what they are doing, the Dr.'s I have seen were always so helpful, and generous with their time. I had to leave Nermal there, for a kidney problem, and I knew he was in good hands. They are always honest and willing to work with you. In the past there was one front office person who was not the most friendly, but she is no longer there.

This is an excellent clinic with a sterling reputation. We have used them for nearly 25 years. Ben Tharp, clinic founder, was the epitome of compassionate, technically excellent, and devoted animal care. Though he passed in Dec 2019, I believe the remaining staff will uphold his great care, and reasonable pricing. These guys are good, in fact excellent with cats and dogs. The clinic has a strong recommendation for first class medical practice and a compassionate, caring staff.

Best vet clinic. Family atmosphere. Dr. Ben Tharp is awesome; compassionate; caring; honest; straightforward and old school--in the best way. He's cared for all our animals (dogs and rabbits). Dr. Tharp is the animals' biggest advocate. He will not suggest fruitless surgeries or spending your last dollar when it won't help. Dr. Tharp will provide quality medical care every visit.

I've been trusting Dr. Tharp with the care of my beloved pets for 22 years. He is one of the best veterinarians I've ever known. He works with me, as I do quite a bit of medical care at home for my pets. He is understanding and helpful in this regard, as I am a Mom of multiple pets and also do a lot of work regarding feral cat TNR and general homeless pet rescue and rehabilitation. I am very appreciative of Dr. Tharp and all the support personnel at Voss Road Veterinary Clinic!

Dr. Ben Tharpe is the best veterinarian I have ever known. First, his medical knowledge is exceptional, he has done some miraculous things for our various pets for over 25 years. Second, his compassion and care for animals are far above that of any vet I know. His spirit extends to the other vets and staff in the clinic. Third, his prices are fair. Unlike some in this city, he neither gouges nor presses clients for unnecessary treatments. Ben is truly an honorable man of integrity, service to his clients and a great vet. I rarely give 5 stars and I rarely speak in such superlatives, but this guy

My first experience here was very good as they were open early and were able to treat my fur children. I sat with a vet who was passionate and knowledgeable, noticed some displeasure in the rest of the staff but gave it little mind until I brought my pets in for boarding and a follow up.
From here I noticed the disconnect between the staff as I was assured that my pets would likely not need anesthesia but a heads up anyway on the cost. I was aware of the cost for the office visit and to board them overnight.
When going in the back room to sit with the vet, I noticed the tech who came to get their

After far too many negative experiences with several uninformed or cold vets and reception staff at Winrock Animal Clinic, ugh, I finally asked around my Briargrove neighborhood for vet ideas and MANY people mentioned Voss Rd and Dr Ben Tharp. So I ended up taking my beloved Scotty/poodle dog here for exams, tests, and, sadly, surgery.
We were treated so well by Ben Tharp that I was both amazed and frustrated that I hadn't thought earlier to get referrals from other dog owners in the area. I actually wanted to call Winrock and tell their indifferent vets to meet Tharp just to see how a caring

I have taken animals here for years and its hit and miss with the staff, over work or under paid I judge. Doctors are good vets, but they want $$$$$ more that the care of animals to pay for the expansion of the place a few years ago, I judge. Been on HOLD for ten minutes now waiting for a simple question about old paper work for one of my animals. YOu guys need to wake up ...

I will never set foot in this place again. I have been going to Dr Tharp since I was a child. Several years ago, my cat was diagnosed with epilepsy. He had to take medication twice a day to control his seizures. I had no trouble refilling his scrips until the past couple years, when I was required to bring him into Voss Road once a year for blood testing.
I would only get a month's notice and was told I couldn't refill scrips until my cat saw the vet. This made it very difficult to keep up with his refills. There were a few times he went days without medication because they refused to

My first visit and the one that encouraged me to transfer my business here was with a front desk staff of a man and woman who were very helpful. My last two experiences with the front desk employees has been awful. The two sour awful women were unhelpful, disorganized and exceptionally rude. Of course, I am of the opinion that a store front business should offer a smile, acknowledgement of the person and some direction. Thankfully, my experience with Dr. Kamal was most pleasant. And, the place is expensive and dirty!

I've been bringing our dogs to Dr. Hays for eight years, despite the fact that Voss Road Animal Clinic was not convenient and more expensive than other clinics. I very much wanted our dogs to have an ongoing relationship with a good, knowledgeable vet so that lord forbid, if anything bad should ever happen, we'd be dealing with someone who knew them and actually cared about them.
Long story short, 3 weeks ago, we took our dachshund in for what we thought was simple stomach trouble. Dr. Hays did an Xray and was alarmed to note that his spleen was quite enlarged. As he was going to

I chose this vet because it was close by, but I rather drive a little further for a better experience.
My little dog has the habit of eating clothing, and she started dry-heaving, which made me worry. When I got there, there were three ladies at the front desk, and none of them greeted me. When I finally got their attention, I got the rudest "welcome" imaginable (the other two ladies seemed helpful). Since we were new, and a little worried, we rushed out of our place without grabbing my dog's records from her previous vets. The woman that was "helping" me said that I
