Dr. Susan McCann has been practicing in the Houston area for over 20 years. She received a Bachelor of Veterinary Science Degree in 1990 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1992 from Texas A&M University. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery and cancer treatments.
Dr. McCann has a charming personality with a smile on her face and is always eager to improve quality of life for our patients and provide a great pet care experience.Dr. McCann gives back to the community regularly by donating time and services with local rescue groups and shelters. In her free time she enjoys mountain biking, reading, and spending time with her family.

Generation Pet Veterinary Clinic believes in the importance of preventing disease. Vaccinations for various diseases including rabies, and wellness screenings such as Heartworm tests, fecal exams, and Felv/FIV tests for pets are very important. Yearly exams are emphasized to note any changes from the previous year.
I have boarded at many places, and summerwood vet clinic by far exceeds them all! It is clear the staff loved my Labrador, Banjo, and the care in all of their boarding accommodations was very evident. I loved the Pawgress report! Thanks again! - Lauren. We have taken our cats here for years - they used to be Summerwood Veterinary Clinic before they moved locations. All the vets are very nice and knowledgeable, and the staff is super helpful. They’ve helped us troubleshoot hairball and digestion issues in a very compassionate but also honest and non-alarmist way.

If you are a cat owner… Be very careful going here. We may have just been unlucky with our experience, maybe they were too busy and stressed or not experienced enough with cats..Just be careful and do your research on how to treat your fur baby. The doctors were fairly nice and the receptionists were always great and it’s a very clean place. Just felt as though they didn’t know how to help our cat or provide us with better options to better his quality of life with GI disease. We didn’t know any better and they kept letting us renew a prescription for months on a food that is only recommend

We had our first experience with Generation Pet about a week ago, after rescuing a beagle and needing to have his shots updated. Ian assisted us with transferring the records from Bradley's former owner, and it was all uphill from here. Ms. Emily greeted us with a smile and great attitude when we went in for our appointment. Ms. Vanessa treated Bradley amazingly well, and Dr. McCann was super sweet and caring.. These folks take the time to listen to you, and treat your pets with the utmost care.

If you are already a client here, I am sure you are happy since Dr. McCann is an excellent doctor. That said, if you are looking for a new vet, I would recommend you look to go elsewhere. They have more “rules” and “policies” that they can’t even explain logically (office manager did use the word “efficacy” which was impressive as she was… insulting me to my face because she didn’t really know what facts the policy was based on). Go somewhere where they will listen to you, know that not all pet owners are cookie cutter, and don’t all

Being on the road, find out stressful to find new vet clinics. But they made the choice of having them as my Houston go to vet easy. The staff are wonderful and pleasant. Jackie, the vet assistant, was great and made both Bug and myself feel at ease and relaxed. Dr Banga was friendly and professional. Glad I found them!
